Oh god, europsort commentators just said Rene Mandri can´t to anything today (ok, he probably can´t having been injured the whole season) because he is a sprinter (2007 Vuelta 24th thou being used as a domestique).

So you get a little excitement at the start of the race (as usual)
Quiet middle of the race (as usual)
And a great final 5-6 laps (as usual).
This is following the usual world championships template.

I agree, i hope the Italian/Spaniard streak ends too, it's been 2005 since our last non-italian winner (Tommeke)

It's a sad reality that a spaniard or an italian wins almost every single year

Millar fell on a climb according to Downing, Downing then spend 2 laps getting Millar back to the front.
If thats true, well done Downing, should have a good season next year at Sky.
Edit: Our usual feedzone crashes, South African rider.

Scarponi, Visconti, Ballan, RodrÃguez all in the break.
Boonen, Rujano, Cobo, Paulinho, Rogers, Kirchen and some others chasing.
EDIT: And Bertagnolli too. Now wouldn't it be something if the peloton never caught up again?. This will be very very interesting indeed
