For this season I won't be able to provide as much detail as last season given less time available. Key races I will provide more info, secondary races I will only provide results. I also won't be able to provide detailed previews and such.

If I get to the spring classics and find the same problems I did last season where none of the cobblestone racers show up, I will end this career.

Our team is much changed this season. Out are guys like Andy Schleck, Ivan Rovny, Mark Cavendish and several of the other sprinters. This season, we have gone for a combination of young and promising climbers and aging climbing stars. We're hoping to improve our Tour de France performance from last season which was pretty poor.

Newcomer Humberto Amilcar will be the guy in the TDF this season. Augustyn will try and defend his Giro title. The leader for the Vuelta is yet to be determined. With Nolf leaving, Nilsson will try and take on the cobblestones. With Rovny gone, we look pretty weak for the hilly classics but Danilo Di Luca will give his best there. Haussler and Farrar will lead the sprinters.

This seasons team looks like this:

Australia TT Championships

The first race of the season for any of our guys is the Australia TT Championships. Cadel Evans is the only guy here. This could be his last season and he has lost his TT abilities, but he gives his best and finishes 4th.

Been playing this save for almost 3 years (and 8 months since the last time I played) so don't really remember. However, I was able to pull up both of their profiles to look at career results.

Hushovd elected to retire young, going out after the 2009 season. He did pretty well over 2007-9, though. Won 3 stages of the Tour in 2007 and took the points title at the Deutschland Tour. Similar results over the next couple of seasons.

Arvesen retired after 2011. He did well in some second tier races both nothing really of note to talk about. Credit Agricole is now a pretty firmly Continental tour team.

Probably a good idea to highlight the moves in and out this season as 1/3 of the team has turned over and probably not everyone is reading back to see what I had last season.

My model has generally been to have 1-2 GC contenders, 3 decent sprinters, a number of young promising racers and some good supporting firepower for the mountains. Each season, I hunt for guys who are level 2-3 and look promising. As they develop, I get a good season or two out of them then they become too expensive. Occasionally, I'll also benefit from a cyclist not being signed by another team and coming in for lower than what they would normally get.

Last season I was not happy with the team. Too many sprinters, not enough mountain support. I also had to let go of some really good guys I'd developed including Ivan Rovny, who was dominant in the hilly classics, and Zhou Sui, a great Chinese sprinter. I brought in more veterans on their last legs but still able to provide good support in the mountains.

Out

Roman Feillu
Ivan Rovny
Andy Schleck
Brian Vandborg
Thomas Lovkvist
Mark Cavendish
Fred Nolf
Zhou Sui
Bjorn Leukemans

In

Valerio Agnoli
Humberto Amilcar
Danilo Di Luca
Mitchell Docker
Cadel Evans
Chaswe Hebert
Saul Raisin
Ilja Syrtsev
Samuel Sanchez

I'm really excited about Docker, Agnoli and Syrtsev. I think they show tons of presence. Evans, Di Luca and Sanchez will be really helpful to our efforts. It is doubtful that any will win a race as all are well past their prime, but at the GC's they will help our main guys win.

Australian Road Race Championship

We had two guys here: Mitchell Docker and Cadel Evans. An early break got away and included some of the big teams so we knew we'd only have a shot of we played a key role in bringing the break back in.

Over the second half of the race, Docker did just that. He rode hard to get Evans back in the race and closed the gap just enough to where attacks could occur near the finish. Evans was a bit slow to attack, however, and never really got into position to go for the win. He did get a top 10 finish, however.

Thanks for that. I'd managed to figure out the shift key but not the other one.
