I did a mountain time trial when i was on holiday, and finished 7th (of 8 riders in my classWink). I had a calf injury and wasn´t able to do some training the two weeks before and i couldn´t ride with full power during the race, so i´m satisfied with my result.

I also rode the Furkajoch, and the 14% in the end killed my left calf, and i did the last km (11% average) mostly with my right leg, resulting in single-digit speed, but finally i reached the top.

Won my second race of the season this last week. Came around the last corner 5th wheel with a teammate in front. He went with 350 meters to go, and I went with about 150 to go. Finished ahead of one of the local masters sprint aces.

Well, gotta say something about my riding here...

I have not ridden this year (and half of the year before there again).

When my results started to get worse and I got a real beating in a Norwegian Cup race I decided to take a little break...

Got back in the saddle for a little two day race (TT + crit race)

But I finished 3-last or something, I was 5,30 down on 10 km TT.....

Decent crit, but since then I have not raced. I still train though, and I'm starting to think about next year. Probably.

Well, 3rd last is better than dead last. Wink What was the name of the race? I suppose it took place in Drammen?

Raced today, 25 laps of a 1km circuit (you do the math), with a steep but short (50 meters or so) hill right at the finish.

Anyway, I'd been sick this week with a cold (missed school Mon. and Tues.), but it had mostly gone away by today (other than a slight cough and a little dryness in my throat).

So I get to the race, and it's a sweltering 92 F (33 C), and guess what happens. Yep, that's right, 4 laps in I can barely breathe. The guys who I was pulling along for the first few laps had lapped me by the end of the race. I felt like shit, and I'm not sure how I finished.

At least I didn't finish last...

Ive heard liquid honey packets help with sore throats.

You shouldn't have raced. If you have had fever or sore throat, you should be 110% fit before training hard or racing.. If not, you could end up getting more sick, wich sucks balls.

Last race of the season, and I thought I was fine. But yeah, you're right.

So a package arrived on my doorstep today from Colavita USA, the team I race for, which got me excited, because I've never gotten any mail of packages from the team HQ in New Jersey...

I open it up, and it's a package of Maxi-Pads and a box of douche. One of my teammates decided he'd get me back for all those times I asked him if he was changing his tampon when he would take too long in the hotel bathroom.

Oh... last race of the season tomorrow. I've got probably 50 days of racing so far this year, starting in January.

Damn, that is a lot for an amateur. What Cat are you up to now?

Still a 3. I've won two races, and should have won 2 more. Today was one of those "two more." I attack with 500 meters to go, and get a winning gap, by the second to last corner, hold it through the last corner onto the finishing hill and I hear the one-to-go bell ringing. They had fucked up the lapcards. I ended up 20th-ish.

I'm going to try cross today, and I decided to do it last night. With a borrowed mtb that is a size too large, road pedals, mismatching kit because I'm too lazy to do laundry. This level of preperation and forethought comes with the territory right?

Anyone with experience in Cross wanna give me a few tips? I'm thinking about joining a race in a few weeks, pending if the very large river in my area starts to recede back to a normal level. (Most of the race is on a riverbank.)

Also Levi, got any wins yet or are you too lazy (like you claim to be) ? Pfft

Opened the Road Season (I'm in Aus!) rather poorly. Only raced 3/4 races and haven't finished a single one due to the flu. A couple of weeks off before I State Champs, I hope i'm good before then...

My race season also started some weeks ago. I wasn´t too bad, but with the best German riders and plenty of Dutch there i had to drop after half the race. The average until then was 45.5 km/h although we had strong wind from the front at one part of the circuit and not really backwind as that part was protected from some buildings...
Next Monday i´ll race "Rund um Köln" and after my race i´ll watch the pros comingSmile

I'm going to join a junior race here. A mere 40km crit. with the steepest "hill" at approximately 6% for 800m. Its an 18 lap circuit, did it last year but crashed out. My training was interrupted with the constant downpour and snow. Canada's sure full of crazy weather

No, no wins from me yet. I switched teams over the winter though. As a result I have been doing a lot of races I wouldn't normally do, ie the hard races, ie the ones with hills. The best I've done is 8th(x2). I need points to upgrade though, or my teammates are going to leave me behindPfft They are my bitches for the next few weeks.

Sounds like you've had lots of racing already. Where I live the races are just starting to pop up, and too lazy to even sign up for them, but my Gym teacher did get me into a cyclo-cross race.

Hopefully you can get a win soon. Still top 10's are nice.

did a little 50km around Overijse (Brabantse Pijl) and i must say it's dense with cobbles and steep hills.
This summer i'll give a shot a the Ventoux. Any tips from people who have already done it?
