Not a bad performance from the guys today, we had Vegard Stake Laengen in the break of the day where he did extremely well and ended up with six of our eight riders in the first group across the line with Efimkin finishing a nice twentieth place

Good to have been in the breakaway!

Good luck there. Should end in a sprint with a select group/ thinned out peloton, I reckon!

THE RACE

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-100KM.jpg

Four riders attacked just after eight kilometres of the race had been covered and have been allowed to have their moment at the front of the race, they are Durasek of Adria Mobil, Oyola Oyola of EPM UNE, Sebiso of LA Antarte and George Preidler of Team Type 1

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/014-TROFEJ%20POREC/014-PIC4_zpsd2f5e3b0.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-80KM.jpg

They have established a lead of over six minutes and are working very well together

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/014-TROFEJ%20POREC/014-PIC5_zpsa968cd19.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-60KM.jpg

The harmony in the break has been shattered by an attack from Sebiso of LA Antarte. He was later followed by Durasek of Adria Mobil and together they have opened a gap of 3m 19s on there fellow escapees who seem resigned to going back into the bunch

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/014-TROFEJ%20POREC/014-PIC6_zpsa1e91fd3.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-40KM.jpg

With Endura Racing doing the pulling on the front of the bunch the gap has been reduced to under three minutes

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/014-TROFEJ%20POREC/014-PIC7_zpsbf75dbbe.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-20KM.jpg

The two leaders seem to be holding the peleton at bay for the time being, but race radio has just confirmed that virtually all of the Endura team are on the front of the bunch

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/014-TROFEJ%20POREC/014-PIC8_zpsb68e001e.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-10KM.jpg

Endura have really put the hammer down now and have pegged back the advantage to under one and a half minutes

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/014-TROFEJ%20POREC/014-PIC10_zps84f18552.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-5KM.jpg

Its almost over for our two leaders as the pack has timed its chase to perfection

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/014-TROFEJ%20POREC/014-PIC11_zpscb8f24e7.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-1KM.jpg

And here goes the mad dash for the line

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/014-TROFEJ%20POREC/014-PIC12_zps650ddeeb.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/checkeredflag1.gif

And its Ian Wilkinson who crosses the line first for a Great one two for Endura Racing

Endura Racing

That was a Good result for Jure considering he doesn't have that good fitness at the moment, he was looked after by the other guys very well in the closing kilometres, so a very good day all round

Ian Butler
Endura Racing ruling, but Jure with a great effort!

sutty68
Ian Butler - Endura were definitely up for it today so a third place for us was a Great result Smile

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/ISTRIANSPRINGTROPHY2_zps04018489.jpg

Stage 1 – Umag ITT – 3.7km

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/PIC-046-PROFILE-ISTRIANSPRINGTROPHY-STAGE1_zps10a445e8.jpg

THE RACE

The first rider to come home in a reasonable time was Andrew Tennant of Rapha Condor

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC5TENNANT_zps230173e6.jpg

But he was soon matched by Ricardo Vilela of Efapel-Glassdrive who recorded a time of 4m 40s for the 3.7km course

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC6VILELA_zps49271176.jpg

Joe Eldridge had a torrid day and would finish way down the field

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC8ELDRIDGE_zpsdd3c3de9.jpg

Another Efapel-Glassdrive rider Sergio Sousa would soon put in the best time of the day 0f 4m 36s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC10SOUSA_zps1ad20066.jpg

Nathan Brown of Bontrager Livestrong would then better the time by three seconds

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC16BROWN_zpsdbba34e0.jpg

Reidar Borgersen of Joker-Merida would fall short

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC15BORGERSEN_zps837e6f0b.jpg

As would Bowden of Team Type 1

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC14BOWDEN_zpsa3af1d2e.jpg

And Huub Duyn of Cyclingteam De Rijke

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC18DUYN_zps952ede88.jpg

Then came the fastest time of the day so far set by Hugo Sabido of LA - Antarte who rode round the short course in 4m 23s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/015-ISTRIAN%20SPRING%20TROPHY/015-1-PIC17SABIDO_zps6c5e5f15.jpg

I was the last of our team out on the course and so i knew what i had to aim for. The team mechanic surprised me by putting a Welsh dragon disc wheel on my rear to try and help me on my way, but would it work
