Giro d'Italia 2011 - Week 1
Johan92
What to say? 7th in the mountain stages in Murcia and Criterium Int. GC standings are irrelevant. He was sick in Amstel and had some bad luck in Liege. He is the strongest Norwegian rider in the mountains. Compared to last year he has been much better strength wise. Results isn't everything for riders like Nordhaug, yet.

You're so...norwegian. Not to say stupid (again)

Theses fanatic Norway fans are really annoying, what's that with your strong patriotism ?

Calm down, guys Smile

I guess, you won't find a solution for this 'problem' anymore.. and this is a place to talk about the Giro Wink

Why is patriotism so bad? Norway doesn't have more than 6 proffesional cyclists, is it so weird we are proud of the few we have?

We Norwegians love two things: our country and our sportsmen. There is no country in Europe with a higher support for our own sportsmen (it was a big survey in VG 2 years ago)

I am proud of our skiers, our national football and handball teams and our cyclists. In Norway, no matter how much you hate it, you watch the ski and handball world championships. We have such traditions to be patriotic. I guess it is part of the Norwegian soul Smile

Oh no. The Giro coverage has already brought a tear to my eye again.

Silence, horn, images of Weylandt winning last year. Too sad.

The best way to honour the man is to go on.

The problem is you are not proud of what they accomplished but proud of what you want them to accomplish. Hence it is annoying.

Also a survey by a norwegian magazine doesnt say alot.

Offtopic: In Uruguay cyclism is not popular... but we have the chance to have one man in a GT. If Caja Rural enters the Vuelta, may be Fabricio Ferrari will run it. That is his dream.

Lets see how Visconti is today, he lost time the first day but i dont know if it was on purpose or not.

We are proud of their abilities as much as their results.

Just because you are proud of their abilities doesnt mean you should ignore the abilities of everyone else in the world of cycling.

Crash. Millar and Vicoso.

At the sprint too, bonus seconds were being fought for,

The guy that thinks he knows it all is really annoying for those who actually do. Rolling Eyes

Of course we are proud of our athletes. "Ignoring everyone else abilities in the world of cycling." You probably have hit something hard with your head.
