hey,
great end of the season for david!!!
i havent posted in the last days because i wasnt home
its still summer holidays - maybe thats why you had the impression that the interest in the story is going down
improvements are never a bad thing but dont worry to much about the style of your story because i think quite a few people are reading your story it would be cool to post davids stat updates like: before and after so that you can see easier where he improved how much...
...oh and i really like the new teams
so now i want to see some exciting transfer news |

Lotto find Co-Sponsor; Survives
It wasn't great news for Lotto, when it was announced earlier that Omega Pharma would be ditching them, for Quickstep, so searching for a new sponsor, Lotto found, Ridley, a Bike Company. The team has been able to keep its PT License and also their best rider, Phillipe Gilbert. They have also been in contact with "A Strong GT-Contender" to fill the gap for Van den Broeck who left last season for Astana.
7 - Eleven Re-Enters Cycling!
After a long time without being involved in cycling, 7 - Eleven felt it was time to get back to the sport, which is on the rise in North America. The team will be based in the US, but they will also sign anyone from the America's. And since a certain Canadian city has been Slurpee capital of the world for 10 years in a row now, it would be best to have atleast one canuck on the team. The management have said they have a fairly large budget, so they can go and buy some strong riders by the sounds of it.
New Russian Powerhouse!
After losing their affiliation with Katusha, (PT) Itera- Katusha decided to find a new head sponsor, and they found a fairly wealthy one, in Rossiya the Russian Airlines Company. The team will still be in the CT next season, but they could be one of the surprise teams to make a push with a handful of noteworthy Russian and East European riders. This team could contend with Katusha in the coming years as theTop Russian team in the world.
Sporza Sponsor New Team
With all the new teams Sporza were starting to feel left out, so when they got the call to see if they would start a team, it was an easy decision for them. The team has apparently signed a lot of very good Belgian riders, apparently most coming from the former Omega Pharma, as some riders didn't get a spot with Quickstep Omega. It should be interesting to watch this team in the classics, because they have said they want to honour Belgiums Classics tradition.
Thats it for now. I also added Garmin Development, and Kenda Pro Cycling, but they aren't exactly "New"

Wow, looks pretty interesting. Looking forward to next season. Just a question: Is 7-Eleven a PT or CT team?

Major Sponsors Invest in Sport
With all the news recently, some companies felt it would be the best time to try and run a cycling team, so we have some big ones here!
Symmetrics Are Back!
The popular Canadian outfit are back, after a short time out of cycling. For a while they were the most dominant Canadian team, and they will want to return to that stature again. Michael Barry has joined them, and they have a huge supply of youth, so they can only get better. Two very good Canadian teams this year, should be fun to watch them compete.
Tissot take over for Atlas!
After a few seasons, without much success, Tissot also a Swiss company decided to take over the former Atlas - Personsl team. In the 90's Swiss riders were all over the place and were also very good. The goal here is to bring Switzerland back near the top of the sport. They should be given lots of money to help reach that goal. Hubert Schwab is already on the team, and he could bring the team lots of success in the mountains.
[img-l]https://asiapacific.blogs.ie.edu/files/ie-files/asiapacific/2007/12/logo_telefonica_0_eng.thumbnail.gif[/img-l] [img-r]https://www.gruposantander.com/ficheros/fenix/img/logo.gif[/img-r]
And finally we get to the biggest news of the day!
Apparently Alberto Contador and Fernando Alonso have been working on something for a while. It was rumoured two years ago that Alonso would start his own cycling team as he has a passion for the sport, but those reports fell through, until now.
Fernando has signed two big name spanish sponsors to fund the team for the season, and he has already signed Alberto Contador, who's contract ran up with Saxo-Bank this season. This is the biggest news of the transfer season, and it might be the story of the decade, as it looks like this team could become a powerhouse. Alonso and Contador get along well, so it was probably an easy decision for Contador.
As well as Contador, Samuel Sanchez will also join the team, as they are also good mates. This will be a blockbuster move for both of them, the problem is, there isn't much Spanish talent left after those two, so the team might not even get a ProTour license.
Nonetheless this is the biggest news, and I cant wait to see what this team will do next season.

This Alonso-Contador-team is reall nice Didn't expect such a blockbuster! Nice, really nice (I may repeat myself).. will be interesting wether they will bring enough talent to join ProTour. But Fernando should have enough money to make it possible

Thank you, so much!
I hope thats somewhat of a realistic team addition. And thank you everyone else that commented earlier, it gets me extra motivated since I wasn't expecting that many responses. Keep them up, and I'll update even quicker, with all the extra motivation.

Wow, what a great story, I love these team-changes and DS-rider fights!!
This makes the new season even more interesting. I hope it won't be too difficult for us to focus on Veilleux. This year should be his breakthrough!!

I'm sooo pumped for this season to start. GreenEDGE, 7/11, Tissot and Contador-Alonso! Plus Veillux will have advanced considerably, with more and more chances to win races like in Japan! Well Done. Well. Done. |

I've been reading this one from the start, just been an awful commenter, but the story is simply great. I like the new turn you're making on your story, with all this new teams, but hopefully Sky and David continues strong. |

With all these new teams, I bet David is inching to switch teams for a chance to have a leader role But in the meantime, hopefully he can continue to develop his talents at Sky during the year.

wow quite some changes in the peloton for the next season - this sounds very interesting!!! escpecially the team around contador
this may be a stupid question but will alonso race himself?
(i have heard about their plan in real life and that alonso is cycling in his free time but not if he wanted to do it in this team...) |

Awesome! Glad to have you here! You can still redeem yourself by commenting a lot (Just kidding, you dont have too!)

Hmmm maybe, but I wouldn't want to upset dear Alakagom. Maybe David improves to 80 in all stats and becomes the leader on Sky

Alonso wont be riding himself. I had heard that he is actually a very good cyclist himself (sounds like he keeps up with Sammy, sometimes) but I think he would still prefer F1.

Highroad Continue Despite Common Belief!
[img-l]https://www.vaillant-group.com/stepone2/data/images/9e/02/00/logo-saunierduval.png[/img-l] [img-r]https://www.bicycle.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/highroad_race_logo-copy.jpg[/img-r]
Two sponsors unite to form super-team!
Saunier Duval and Highroad will be splitting sponsorship next season. After much speculation that HTC-Highroad would disband at the end of the season, it was announced very late on that Highroad had found a team which they could join with, although Saunier Duval has been out of the sport a few years. Saunier Duval, join Bob Stapleton in hopes that with his managing skills they can finally fund a doping free team. Highroad were just happy to find someone to split costs with, so the deal is mutually beneficial, and the team will be based in Germany. This has attracted many strong German riders to join the "best" team in the world, so we will no doubt see them winning again next season. The team has also kept a PT license so two birds with one stone for Stapleton. And I personally cant wait to see what their jersey will look like.....
Now that that's over, I'll have the Major Transfers up tommorow and then the Team overviews before the season starts!
