I think sticking with print races will do just fine. Most of the reporters have a really good feel for building tension and delivering entertaining reports. I never feel bored reading any that take place when my team is racing, and when I was playing I'd usually read a lot of the other ones as well, because they're very interesting to take a look at.

Anyone else's quote buttons just disappear? Or are they not available in this forum...

Regardless of how it's done, I'm against stage videos instead of reports. Short clips, like SN did in the Tour, are fine, but full stages are a complete no for me.

I agree with Pellizotti. I find the reports very entertaining, and often thrilling to read in the format they're now. If a stage or a race will be streamed it will most likely be boring, there won't be much of an overview for the viewers, and I can imagine the graphic to not be very good either, giving "clear" pictures to the readers/watchers.

@Deadpool I think it's not possible in here, can't edit either.

Hm, alright then. And yes I guess videos are good enough, but I still think that in-race discussions such as with real-life races are missing. Guess I'll have to spice up the race discussion threads then. Smile

Reporters have full admin rights in this subforum, but all others can't, yes.

Streaming, videos or whatever doesn't work for me. SN did it at the Tour, and no offense, it did not work at all for me.

I'm of the old school, and like the textbased reports. For me it also adds a dimension to the game that can't be done from videos. The reporter can "create" a storyline to the stage that doesn't exist, but is great fun to watch, and makes the racings lively. The videoes of PCM cyclist smashing around the road is for me still so unrealistically poor designed that it has to be no go.

The creativity of the reporters shine through and it gives a great feeling of love towards the game. Something I can personally not see evolve in the video inspired stages.

I hope it will be a definite no go, to experiment with video-reporting as long as the game is so badly organized, in "living" gameplay. The idea isn't bad, but i'm not a fan, and probably never will be. A great written piece of work is almost like art to me, and I can read them more than once. The first time, to see how my team does, the second to get all the details. For me a stage can take half an hour to complete, if it is really well executed. Please don't remove that ever Smile

I think Streaming stages (like over justin.tv) could work.

But I don't know how the "reporters" are restricted with how they have to do that stuff. For example if they have to x1 the whole stages or are allowed to put it up to x2" etc.

But the biggest concern would be the factor "watchers/used time and effort = worth"
I mean you could watch these races also afterwards as I think you can store them. But I don't think it would be good for 5 people to put a lot of effort into it, that wouldn't be worth the time etc.

But I would like to see more stage/race highlights videos, with that I mean after each stage there are the highlights (were introduced with PCM06).. These could be filmed, put together and the whole video would show the stage highlights from each stage. I would be definetly more for that and would definetly watch them.

I liked the video clips and the twitter account, but I normally read the reports when I get in from school and I prefer not to have a long video, as it makes me more likely to get distracted. Highlights and Twitter though, or MTF Videos work well though. Smile

Just wanted to say that I think no one wants to scrap the reports for stream videos. Reports will be still there.

They want to view how the race unfolded and so the idea came up with streaming the race and upload/store it so people can view/download it to view theirselves.

I presume if it's not that big of a deal that all of the equipment and DB stuff will carry over. I know I haven't been accepted back into the game yet, but I've got a fantastic idea for a team and have already gotten excited enough to where i'm thinking about equipment and what not Pfft

What are the main changes from 11 to 12? Just so I know which riders to trust.

Overall, the gameplay will be better. We should have far less crazy results.

Sounds good. But is sprinters more likely to win from a train? Have the Hill/MO ratio changed and Stuff like that. I don't have the PC to check it for myself unfortunately

The ratios work the same way and is still decided by the stage maker. And sprints seem to work much the same. Resistance seems to also play a larger role than it did before.

Actually the ratios are this time decided by the game I think. But the tests show good results in most stages imo.

Gameplay wise the best developing might be that the strong riders being blocked will be less.

SportingNonsense
Yeh, the game decides ratios and whether a stage is rated as flat, hilly or mountainous now, which seems to lead to more flat stages and less hill stages.

A problem this season is that we did calendar planning with PCM10 and then made a relatively late switch to PCM11, so were forced to use some PCM10 stages which did not work great in gameplay at times. This season it will be all PCM12 stages in use.

so riders like Di Maggio (nothing, but high hill stat) won´t be struggle in hilly-rated stages in climbs with 5%+ gradient again?

Sounds interesting. Can we have the DB to check ingame, so us with zero experience, can draw Some conclussions as to how we want our team to be like?
