The lowest amount of race days for a Conti rider (regardless of how high the average of the rider) is something like 30 days. For Mikhail Ignatiev last season he had 40something race days? I believe the trade off in slightly less race days was made up for by being dominant in the races he did. Likewise Ponzi was the opposite - lower average, higher race days, and so made up for not winning everything by instead being Top 10 in most races. It seems that the Conti teams that do best first year go for a good in-depth squad rather than one off leader and lots of back up. Though saying that, Kami obviously focused more on one leader - Ricco, and his domination paid off.

I think the most important advice a new manager should take to heart is the following: be lucky.

It did pay off for Kami, but if managers didn't leave and 100%ME were able to promote Kami would be in the CT with a much reduced budget this season.

I would just advice to put a lot of time in your race planner (something i messed up last year by not making any time for it). One bad race choice could cost you a goal or even promotion (Bianchi).

@Fenian: I finished 5th, and since Auber automatically demotes with Wiggle promoting i would still be in PT . Even if i wouldn't have promoted, i would still have gotten 3/5 goals, which would not really reduce my budget by much, if even at all, the team results were pretty good.

Can't blame me for liking a tidy looking excel file...
I still don't know how I did it, but I am going to blame Brea, and whoever my last signing for Lafarge was... lets just blame Rangel...

Tidy? It looked like a cat had drunk a pint of black, strong, coffee, and hadn't been able to get out the cat flap before the inevitable happened. Yeah. Cat diarrhea.
That's what your excel spreadsheet looked like.

Changing the subjexct from duck porn, and ignoring the fact they are the only animal known to engage in homosexual necrophilia
Valverde had 28 race days two years ago, and still won the CT overall rankings. Then, because he got all my goals I had the finances the next year to create a rounded team. The one rider strategy is definitely valid.

I mean I have seen an excel worksheet where it says how many race days the different races takes from the team, for. example a HC classic takes 2 days of the total of 175.
Unfortunately, I can't find it again, does anyone have a link to the page where I can download it, or a direct download link?
That would be much appreciated, as I'm struggling with my race days now. |

2 days per classics, 1 day per stage of a race

I dunno but there is an excel file in the C1 Race Selection Thread just below this, and when I filled it out, it counted down the days for me.
Is this what you speak of or is it something completely different?
