Stage 7
Semur-en-Auxois - Bourg-en-Bresse
Last sprint day for sprinters..after that mountains. There is two days left for McEwen enjoy he's yellow.
nice picture to the team office wall- McEwen in yellow..and Freire green.
Linus had some technical problems just before sprint...
main sprinters looking best position for the sprint..McEwen chasing yesterday winner Haussler..Boonen is in same train..also Freire.
Rabo trying to play different strategy today..van Heeswijk coming at behind and Freire follows...McEwen tryed to the same. But Ventose coming between them..Boonen has bad positioning now.
Sprint..Heeswijk open's for Freire and Eisel passes Robbie..damn Robbie is a little boxed..little panic. Robbie opens sprint..this is gonna be long one
When Freire passes Heeswijk left..side. Robbie use's right side..good move. Heeswijk is now between..Freire cant take McEwen backwheel.
Nice and pure win..great result and perfect top form timing. Now on just suffering in the mountains..and holding green.

Stage 8
Bourg-en-Bresse - Le Grand-Bornand
First stage for climbers...last day for McEwen to have yellow.
Parra and Savoldelli two strong riders for breakaway group.
77km. to go Kohl again, Karpets and Brajkovic. Going for atack..
Now last climb and real action..CSC has moved in front Andy, Julich, Arvesen (he seems to be great after Suisse tour disaster)..all breakaway riders has given up. Andy Schleck leading the peloton..this tempo hurts..many splits.
McEwen cant follow..he will loose he's yellow today..not surprised realy
This is what has left at lead group after Andy relay...Valverde, Pereiro, Klöden, Kasechkin, Contador, Leipheimer, Ewans, Sastre and Schleck..all tour main favorites.
Sastre atack's...Klöden trying to follow. he cant..Evans given he's best shot..long atack..he caches Sastre back wheel.
Caisse and Astana works fine together...and they coming back...
Just before hill top..Evans moves in front and sets high tempo..to destroy that group a little before downhill Contador, Pereiro and Leipheimer cant follow. Contador is cracked..at the first mountain stage.
Downhill..now we have just 6 left..Kasechkin, Valverde, Klöden, Sastre, Schleck and Evans...
Evans who feeling great today has even strenght left to beat Valverde and Kasechkin with sprint. (after TdF I must feel like sprint king..what was my earlyer weak point).
Ups Evans in yellow..just after McEwen. I hope Sastre and CSC is activ also at next mounatin stages.

I already planned..to be agressiv also next mountain stages..Evans is in great shape. Klöden has shown a little difficulty for example to follow Sastre atack..
And Evans need some time between Klöden..who is a little better TT rider. |

Stage 9
Le Grand-Bornand - Tignes
Today plan is to get more time advantage between Klöden.. Sastre and Valverde atacks is main opportunity for that goal
TdF breakaway king..Savoldelli again in breakaway group.
Stage starts for main group two intermediate sprint's Freire got 4 and Robbie 8 points. Good that we have Freire he keep McEwen sharp
Rabo move today..is to send Boogerd for solo..they planning something for Menchov today?
Contador atacks...Caucchioli,Sanchez, Kohl and Carrara follows. This is a little to early for main GC contenders..they wait
45km. to go..Boogerd and Contador working front together now..Sastre atacks, Evans with Klöden follows.
Evans working with Sastre..Klöden wasnt able to follow them when they atacked. Duo caching already race lead duo..Boogerd and Contador.
They come and go...Boogerd cant follow at all. Contador just few km. and this is to much for him also.
More riders to come..Valverde with Klöden also passes Contador..now we have 4 strongest man up there together again. This is already second time when Klöden and Valverde has come back at the climb and cached Evans , Sastre duo.
10km. to go..nobody dont want to take relay anymore..Evans moves in front and fast relay that is..he hope to drop some rider.
3km. later..small gap between Evans and second man at the group Valverde. Evans go's even faster now.. riskful move. Can he keep up to the end? Gap is stable around 20 sec.
He made it and will be rewarded by another 30 sec. advantage over Klöden.
Horner 12. in GC..van der Broeck 19.
