First of all thank you for the Monster Babes
Great win by Kittel in his homeland.
Will be nice to see the battle between Kittel and Ciolek..

@ baia: Your welcome about the MOnster babes. And I think Ciolek is in a way better form now than Kittel, so a battle isn't realistic.
@ abelbaba: thanks. But all good things come to an end.

Stage 3
Today we saw a strong BOTD, with Daniel Moreno (Euskaltel) and Chris Anker Sorensen (BMC) as the only 2 survivors. Thomas De Gendt made the jump out of the peloton to them, something that Philippe Gilbert couldn't do. But De Gendt was too tired to win the sprint, when he joined the 2, so Daniel Moreno took the win. But De Gendt took over the GC-lead, by only 2 seconds to Philippe Gilbert! Best from our team was Matti Breschel in 25th, at 3'43.
The Results
1 | Daniel Moreno | Euskaltel - Euskadi | 4h08'06 | 2 | Thomas De Gendt | Radio Shack - Nissan | + 8 | 3 | Chris Anker Sørensen | BMC Racing Team | + 21 | 4 | Philippe Gilbert | Dexia | s.t. | 5 | Daniele Callegarin | Team Type 1 | + 1'21 | 6 | Tejay Van Garderen | Garmin - Barracuda | s.t. | 7 | Anthony Geslin | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step | s.t. | 8 | Morris Possoni | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 9 | Michael Albasini | Red Bull - Cervélo | s.t. | 10 | Stefan Denifl | Red Bull - Cervélo | s.t. |

Stage 4

Saw it too, little mistake. Hadn't seen him on the startlist. Gonna change that.

Firstly I'd like to say thankyou for your amazing story. It started long before I even got onto this site but i've followed your writing since the day I joined.
This story was my original inspiration to create my own and so I would also like to thank you for that. Good luck with the family and your child, I wish all the best to all you, and thankyou once again for both the inspiration you gave me, and also for the enjoyment I got from reading the tales of Monster!

Stage 5
The last stage in the Tour of Beijing and another breakaway win. 11 riders battle it out for the win and Chris Sutton (Astana) beats Tomasz Smolen (Vacansoleil) and Oscar Gatto (Farnese Vini) for the stage win. There is one Belgian rider who doesn't mind that the bonus seconds are gone, so Thomas De Gendt wins the GC.

Giro dell'Emilia
Next stop: the Giro dell'Emilia, one of the oldest classics, (the 98th edition). The hilly races near Bologna is a perfect general rehersel for Il Lombardia. Last year, Ukrainian Yaroslav Popovych took the win in the uphill sprint.
The Route
192 kilometres from Cento to the summit of the San Luca near Bologna, with a long flat first part, followed by 2 climbs and then 5 laps at a 9km circuit with the finish at the steep San Luca, 1.9km at 10.1%.

Our Team
The Favourites
*** Gregory Bernard, Cayetano Sarmiento (Acqua et Sapone), Giovanni Visconti (Katusha).
** Robert Gesink, Francesco Masciarelli (Nespresso), Simon Spilak (Lampre).
* Fabio Duarte (Astana), Domenico Pozzovivo (Colnago), Peter Sagan.
Our Goal
We have the strongest team here for sure (6 with Hi 78+, 4 with 80+), but the teams form isn't good. So a top 5 would be good, especially because we haven't been able to win here before.
The Race
75km to go
5 leaders at the summit of the Monzuno (5.8km at 6.2%) with still 75km to go. José Rujano (Androni), Danilo Di Luca (Acqua et Sapone), Francesco Failli (Team Type 1), Ivan Santaromita (Liquigas) and Oleg Berdos (De Rosa) have a margin of 9'12 to the peloton.
38km to go
With the other team looking at us, there is no other option than to lead the chase. This means we have to sacrifice one of our better hilly riders. And although he has a Hilly stat of 80, Peter Sagan is the one. Reason for this is that he has a bad daily form (-4) and is the best descender of the team. And consequently, the margin has been decreased to 5'04 when the peloton ascends the San Luca for the first time. The work is done for our Slovakian sprinter, and Cadel Evans takes over.
19km to go
And this is the reason why Evans did lead the chase for 2 laps. His team mate and former Italian champion Giovanni Visconti attacks at the 3rd ascend of the San Luca. Trying to protect his teammate Di Luca, Cayetano Sarmiento counters. But with the margin till being 3'50, things look good for Di Luca and Failli, who have dropped the other 3.
9km to go
1 lap to go and The Killer is leading solo! Di Luca has dropped Failli and is riding towards his biggest win in the last few seasons. The chasing group of favourites follows at 1'54, and as more often this season, there is no organized chase. Francesco Masciarelli si the next to attack, countered by Fabio Duarte. Only Robert Gesink and Jelle Vanendert are present in the first group from our team, so it looks like the win is out of reach.
Finish
And Di Luca takes the win in Bologna, still having a '48-margin to the number 2. But the 5 steep climbs have soaked all the energy out of him, being too tired to celebrate.
'48 bhind him, Domenico Pozzovio takes the 2nd place, beating his team mate Emanuelle Sella. Robert Gesink gets outsprinted by Fabio Duarte and has to settle with the 5th place.
The Results
1 | Danilo Di Luca | Acqua & Sapone | 4h56'34 | 2 | Domenico Pozzovivo | Colnago - CSF Inox | + 48 | 3 | Emanuele Sella | Colnago - CSF Inox | + 1'00 | 4 | Fabio Duarte | Pro Team Astana | + 1'11 | 5 | Robert Gesink | Petronas - Monster Energy | s.t. | 6 | Francesco Masciarelli | Nespresso - Algarve | + 1'22 | 7 | Giovanni Visconti | Katusha Team | + 1'29 | 8 | Álex Cano Ardila | Onfone | + 1'38 | 9 | Cadel Evans | Katusha Team | + 1'44 | 10 | Cayetano Sarmiento | Acqua & Sapone | + 1'51 |
The Winner
Word from the DS
What a tough race... That San Luca climb really soaked out the energy. Gesink can be happy with the 5th place, and a fitness of 76.
