Wow the crash in today's stage has nearly forced half of the peloton out with a serious injury, i have never seen a crash like that ever in the history I have been watching cycling. It was like a war zone.
In this race I did earlier this year a similar crash happened. It wasn't at a roundabout, but it was wet and the group went too tight into a corner. I avoided it but around 4 guys went down, and one of them really tore up his arms. I've seen plenty of crashes but that one, with the wet conditions and the tight turn, was the fastest and hardest I've seen.
With the speeds these guys were doing, I'm not surprised it was carnage. |

Im surprised that the riders who hit the curb are not paralyised from the legs downwards at the speed they hit the curb, I noticed that some riders hit the curb with their back. |

Also, was that Mosquera wich was being pulled by his teammates to the finnshing line?

I thought that looked like Mosquera from Xacobeo who was escorted across the line flanked by his two dutiful domestiques. That was definitely an impressive sight to see. Dominguez was the one with the bloody tibia that apparently caused the whole ordeal (at least according to Roger Hammond's comments). |

i loved this comment by Cadel Evans on his twitter: "I would like to give a special thanks to my Continental tyres for getting me safely through today's 'filthy' stage....." |

Great reading..
"This is what happened in Liege, I heard the crash ahead, then I saw a guy about five or six riders in front of me hit the ground independently of what ever the noise had been and then it began. Every single racer in front of me hit the ground. You see it coming; I knew I was going down, as soon as I saw the domino effect commenced I simply waited." |

I enjoyed the Dutch sojourn, but it's good to see the race back in Spain. |

I'm missing both the Saturday stage and the football qualification match ... my girlfriend can blame her sister if I hate weddings from Sunday and on. |

£2 against Freire to top 3, and £2 for Farrar and Boonen to top 3, makes this race a little more exciting. Not much. But a little.
It loses more interest with every bet I lose. |

I'm watching Universal's online coverage of the stage, and the british commentator just used the word impetus while referring to the break slowing down.
My question for all the brits is, What the fuck is up with british cycling commentators and the word impetus? Its like a fetish or something...

It's incredible that one can, with 100% certainty, say everytime that Gilbert will attack in a finale like this
