Rubens Barrichello has suggested that one day he will perhaps reveal the ‘truth' of his life at Ferrari, claiming the public ‘doesn't know even half' of the things that went on at the team when he drove for them.
The Brazilian – still without a seat in Formula 1 in 2009 as Honda continues to procrastinate over its line-up, testing out young compatriots Bruno Senna and Lucas di Grassi at Barcelona next week as it searches for ‘fresh blood', in the words of CEO Nick Fry – competed for the Scuderia from 2000 to 2005.
Though he triumphed in nine races over that period – indeed, every one of his F1 successes from his record-breaking 267 grand prix starts – the 36-year-old was invariably under strict orders to play second fiddle to team-mate Michael Schumacher, whether he was slower than the German multiple world champion or not.

Whilst Barrichello twice finished runner-up in the title chase over that period, Schumacher claimed five consecutive drivers' trophies, helped in no small part by his team-mate's support.
The pair's relationship, however, was never quite the same again after Barrichello was told to cede victory to Schumacher in the infamous 2002 Austrian Grand Prix, and very publicly revealed his distaste for the scenario by pulling over practically on the finish line to let the sister scarlet machine past to ‘win'. The uncomfortable scenes up on the podium afterwards – when Schumacher attempted to push Barrichello onto the top step following a chorus of boos from the crowds – led to team orders being banned in F1.
“The public does not know even half of the story about what I experienced with Ferrari,” the São Paulista is quoted as having said by F1SA during an awards night. “Perhaps they will be able to read the truth one day in a book.”
Barrichello added that the ‘right time' for him to reveal the details of his period at Maranello ‘will come'.
What is that Lassie? Life in an F1 team is in no way fair and nobody really cares about you? Wow, what a huge surprise.......NOT
It's F1....there are almost no serious or honest people in it, what was this guy expecting? To be treated fair? Never gonna happen. Especially not at one of the top 3 teams... |

I wonder what more he could tell in the book ? More examples of him being faster but asked to let Schumacher pass him ? What's the point ?
Of course it's sad for him, but like you said, that's F1. Various interests are more important than fair play or fair treatments inside teams.
Schumacher was more bankable than his team mates, like many before and after him.
As for Barrichello, it's a bit sad for him that he'll get sacked by Honda, especially to be replaced by an inexperienced beginner (Bruno Senna, who shouldn't really be named Senna, and didn't show that much for his first GP2 season...). He beat Button several times this season and is one of the only drivers who'll have raced in F1 with slick tyres before...
He said that he'll retire if he doesn't get a F1 seat next season, so no IRL like rumours said, nor another serie. |

I think he will tell more about Ferrari
Do you think there is everytime 2 Drivers , 2 Friends?
I can´t believe that he understood Irvine , Barrichello and Massa well...
Also the things like Massa said 2006 : "I would give Schumacher the win if I would be first and he second"
Yes "the" country where the driver are the proudest to be there and to win at home |

I found those two pictures in a dictionary, they were illustrating the word "ugly".

Yes, those are the 2009 cars being tested with the new regulations. Williams have been testing theirs since May. |

Ecclestone gone mad(der)?
Bernie Ecclestone is planning to revolutionise the scoring system in Formula 1 by introducing gold, silver and bronze medals instead of championship points.
In Ecclestone’s vision the driver with the most race wins would become world champion, doing away with the need for points to decide the title outcome.
The F1 supremo claims his plans have wide support and says he is confident the new scoring system will be in place in time for next year's season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
“The FIA and all the teams are behind it and it will be done,” he told The Times.
“Everybody understands gold medals and silver and bronze.
“Nearly all sports are done that way.
“The whole point will be, when they get to Melbourne for the first race, the guys will want to leave there with a gold medal.
“They don't want to leave with 10, eight or six points.”
Under Ecclestone’s proposed medal system, Lewis Hamilton would have lost this year’s championship by a single win to Felipe Massa.
Ecclestone believes that putting the emphasis on race victories will lead to more overtaking at the front, as drivers would not benefit from driving conservatively to bolster their points tallies.
“The need for it [a medal system] was highlighted at the Brazilian Grand Prix at the end of this season when Hamilton only had to finish in the top five to win the title, not win," he said.
“So this will encourage overtaking.”
For the change to go ahead it will need the FIA’s approval at the next meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in December.

I think the more aggressive driving standpoint it makes sense, but from a fairness standpoint it doesn't.
Well, fairness wins, I agree, this is a bad plan |

More madness from Ecclestone. Why doesn't the man realise that the drama of the championship going down to the last race will be over halfway through the season if a rider gets the 'required' number of victories?
I actually thought this was a wind-up until I read it for myself on the ITV website... |

Well, after 2 laps there are only the 6 or 8 top cars left in the race, with the cars reliability there's almost no chance that something else than a Ferrari, Renault, McLaren or BMW will finish on the podium...
I think points for the 12 or 15 first cars would be better, with of course way more than 10 points for the winner (25 or 30, whatever), so thered be overtakings even for the 12th position.
I joined a table with the medals system, the real points, a point scale giving 3 points for gold, 2 for silver, 1 for bronze, and another one with the current scale points but only the points brought by podiums.
Make up your mind.

Hang on - Heidfeld didn't win 4 times last season. But anyway, I don't really like the idea. |

If you want more overtaking just give the winner of each race 12 points.

Red Bull bought Berger's shares in Toro Rosso, and will decide of the drivers for next season. It seems Buemi will get one seat, the second one will be between Bourdais, Sato, Barrichello and Senna.

I hope Bourdais get's it, he is by far the best of that group of 4. And if he wasn't so unlucky last season he would have at least 1 podium finish |

Aaaaaaand suddenly Honda pulls out and Button is left without a team.
Who saw that coming?
Is anyone buying the team? Another blow for jackass Button's career plans
