It's a shame that the triumphs of today's stage (and the tour so far, in fact) are marred by the horrible crashes, particularly the one with the car. Hoogerland has always been a favourite of mine, and is even more so after today. When he said in a post-race interview with ITV that it was an accident, and he doesn't blame anyone, showed what a truly amazing person he is.
David Brailsford of Sky, however, was not so forgiving of the incident...

Whilst Hoogerland was being humble, what happened was inexcusable, so (not hearing the interview) Brailsford has a right to be annoyed.

Great... only the Schlecks are still injury free + Basso + Evans.
Not exactly on my favorite list of GC riders, except maybe Ivan Basso.
Blah.
I can't stand one of the Schlecks winning, really I can't. Hope Contador recovers soon.
Actually I think Samy doesn't have any injuries too. After first two stages many probably counted him of, but I think that he is in even better climbing shape than last year. So I expect big things from him in Pyrenees. |

Yeah but Sammy lost some important time in the first two stages. And one of the Schlecks winning... bah, I'd rather see Evans in yellow in Paris that one of those two.
So far I missed two stages from this year's TDF: the one where Brajkovic crashed and this one. It looks like every time I miss a stage there are multiple crashes in pack.
Good news for Rabo that LL won today, at least they will have something from this Tour if Gesink will have to abandon. But today he managed to stay in touch with the big guys so it might be looking better for him now and the rest day comes in perfect time.

And Cunego is injury free.... touch wood... well he crashed once.
Not that he's a favourite for the win..... (Slowly slips out waiting for the forthcoming comments)

This was "ugly" stage win..after a year it will be ok..when we forget how he get it.
Gesink news is much better for Rabo |

If Gesink abandons will be another sad news for this years Tour.More than half of the favourites are abandoned or injured..
Rest in Peace, Wouter Weylandt.

I just watched the crash again, how on earth did Voeckler manage to stay on his bike?
Flecha was next to him and he fell on Voeckler who, thanks to an impressiv balance effort, didn't fall.
EDIT :https://www.eurosport.fr/cyclisme/tour-de-france/2011/c-est-un-scandale_sto2866180/story.shtml
You can also see Voeckler's disapointed face at 10" after looking backwards...
(to those who say it has something to do with french riders please think again)
And chapeau bas to Flecha and Hoogerland for continuing the race, really aweful crash, I am ashamed of what happend on a race such as TdF...
But one last thing don't say it's the worst race you've seen, that the Tour isn't nice to watch etc... This years Giro wasn't better at all!

It seems like I like almost every rider who are most of the people hating the most. Cancellara, Schlecks, Cunego, Basso. Quite interesting fact for me..

Same for me, I don't really get why people hate the Schlecks, avoid crashes is not only luck, it's also consciousness being well placed paying attention etc... (in most cases, not when a car decides to bump into you, or when a rider pushes you...)
Team Europcar !!

Yeah, but you like Europcar. And everyone likes Europcar, including me.
But about Schlecks. I really don't get why most of the people hate Schlecks even more than Contador for example.. I really would like to know some true reasons why people hate them.. I am fan of them, so I probably can't see these obvious reasons.

Contador being a nice bloke while Andy is a dumbass may be a reason. Maybe.

- Andy calling Sastre a bad teammate after Sastre went out of his way to help the Schlecks when he could've won the Tour far more easily by not doing them favours;
- Andy calling Moncoutié "retarded in the head" for absolutely no reason.
- Andy saying he's the best climber in the world right after being humilliated at Verbier by Contador;
- Andy's lack of fair play at last year's Tour;
- Andy only trying at two races per year and ignoring the others;
Frank Schleck is fine. No problem with Frank. Well, other than paying Fuentes for dope.

We don't like Schleck because he is a dumbass.
Schleck cares about the TdF and maybe LBL and as I cycling supporter I don't like that. Maybe if I was a TdF only supporter I'd have liked that.

One of the Schlecks? If any Schleck will win, then it will definitely be Andy. I have seen enough of Frank in TDS (not one btw) and Vuelta where everyone is expecting something from him, but he just doesn't deliver it.
As I said many counts Samy of after first two stages, but he hasn't had any incidents since. And I remember him last year saying that he hasn't reached his full potential yet. So I'm waiting for the first real, not Massive Central, mountain stages and hoping that he won't have any incidents until. |

Well in fairness i have to say, that Fränk looks very good. I dont think he will win the Tour, but he is a outsider though imo.
But Andy is my favorite now to the victory, Contador does not look fresh.. I REALLY hope Andy/Frank/Leopard wont win though. |

And all the other riders care about more then, let's say 5 races in the year? |
