Andy looks stronger then Contador, probably logical cause Contador is aiming for Giro.

Knowing my luck after saying that Guido he will get done for doping, like the other rider's I think highly off, Valverde. I hope not and doubt it.

Agree. If was blessed with the skill of cycing equal to the Schlecks and was in the same position as them, I would have had a few short but strong attacks in the final 3km.
Schleck are in great form..and also good in hills. But they have nothing to but against Gilbert powers and skills at the moment..
Nicolas..we all waited some Schleck atack..but it was Gilbert who was atacking. Brave one..strong rider sign.
and yes it is great finish shot for Gilbert wall..him celebrating against Schleck Brothers

Nice race. And really nice results too. Gilbert, Schleck, Schleck, Kreuziger. Great, just great.
Gilbert is the legend. Schlecks don't have legs for a attack. And Kreuziger is in great form before Giro. Only 13 days!

Can't wait for the Giro now after three brilliant classics, hopefully Nibali can win the Giro over Clenbuterol.

A good race, but a bit of an odd ending. The Schlecks knowing they couldn't win in the sprint could have at least tried to get rid of him. Even if it was doomed to failure, an attempt stands more chance of suceeding that sitting around doing nothing.
All in all though, a great classics season. 12 months until the next one...

Andy tried. Gilbert was just too strong. And the next year Gilbert will have an enemy much harder to beat. |

Andy tried, I assumed Frank would just sitting back, doing no work at all.

Andy may have tried, but what a waste to just ride on the front right until the end.
Frank was using a bit more tactical nous in taking Gilbert's wheel and hoping to benefit - but as well was this being undone by the fact that Andy was sheltering Gilbert, he just has such a hopeless sprint that he couldnt even beat his brother.

Nobody will be able to beat Gilbert. This year he has Van den Broeck and Vanendert also in top form, so they will be able to bring back the attackers.
However, on Roche-aux-Faucons Andy Schleck will attack like in the two last editions. Gilbert and Antón follows him and those three will battle it out for the win with Gilbert outsprinting his two companions.
Purito will win the sprint in the group behind ahead of S. Sánchez and Gilbert's super domestique Vanendert.
Got Gilbert right at least. 4/10 of the top 10.
Fantastic win from Gilbert.

They did what they could. Andy attacked in Saint-Nicolas, then what was Gilbert's reaction? Did he struggle? No, he attacked, Andy died and Fränk could barely get his wheel. I don't see how they could have done anything else in the last kms other than to stay in Gilbert's wheel and hope he somehow fucks his sprint up. |

Also, why did no one bother to try to respond to Andy's attack, the rest of the peleton literally just watched them go away

Yeah I was utterly amazed. The team has to be happy with his ride today and it makes up in some small way for Evans' injury.
Excellent classics season all around, a tough MSR, a couple of cobbled classics surprises, and an amazing series of Ardennes classics.
