@ aas169 - Thank you, I love banana
@ kwkke10 - Thanks, I never thought he would win the race with that attack
@ laidbackmarc - Yeah Cucumbers are good, just needs some Ranch dressing
@ tsmoha - Thanks, I always try my best with the screens, so thanks very much!
@ FreitasPCM - Thanks now I should be good with Bananas for a week...
@ baia - Thanks but I dont accept banana's with only 1 eye....... only joking thanks
@ roturn - Thanks for the kind words, its nice to see you here again But his stats haven't improved much since June or May.
@ dienblad - Such a great response! I'll keep on trying to win, and maybe I'll give you a cucumber in the future but David needs to win more races first. For next season I'm still not sure how much he can win, but I think he will have higher finishes. He might race a few more stage races next year, although a GT isn't out of the question either....
@ jseadog1 - Thanks, I'm getting enough fruit and veggies to make a salad or something
@ Mresuperstar - Awesome, you've been one of my best followers so thanks. Appreciate the bananas too!
_______
Just an update, a couple boring updates to go before the interesting ones, and then we can move on to the next season!

Well I can only say, my season has been a success. With a very successful season, no teams have disbanded and that in itself can be a great accomplishment for the sport. My highlights were winning the KoM at the Tour of California, wearing the leaders jersey at the Tour of Turkey and winning the Japan Cup Classic to end off the season. And dont worry, I'll answer your questions later.
Giro d'Italia | Michele Scarponi (Lampre) | Tour de France | Andy Schleck (Leopard Trek) | Vuelta a Espana | Samuel Sanchez (Euskaltel) |
This years Grand Tour's had a bit of everything in them. Roman Kreuziger really proved to the world that he's a great GT rider with two Podium finishes, and almost winning the Tour de France if not for a little mistake in the last week. Michele Scarponi really performed well in the Giro beating a peaked Contador, while Samuel Sanchez took the Vuelta.
Milano - San Remo | Robert Hunter (Radioshack) | Ronde van Vlaanderen | Tom Boonen (Quickstep) | Paris - Roubaix | Tom Boonen (Quickstep) | Liege - Bastogne - Liege | Damiano Cunego (Lampre) | Giro di Lombardia | Riccardo Ricco (Lampre) |
This years Monuments, were dominated by two teams, QuickStep and Lampre, one is known for its Northern Classic riders, the other for its Ardennes Classic riders. Tom Boonen pulled off the Double and has really secured Quickstep a spot in the PT for next year, while Cunego and Ricco also did well. But the real surprise is Robbie Hunter winning MSR. His career is now complete, as he has MSR and TDF stage victory.
Road Race | Damiano Cunego (Lampre) | Time Trial | Fabian Cancellara |
Cunego has had a dream season, and he finished it off with a WC win. He wil wear the Rainbow stripes proudly, but hopefully he doesn't get the curse. And then theres Spartacus, did anyone even think he wouldn't win? And he's by far the best TT rider of this generation.
1. Damiano Cunego
2. Andy Schleck
3. Tom Boonen
Individual
1 | Damiano Cunego (Lampre) | 771 | 2 | Andy Schleck (Leopard) | 734 | 3 | Samuel Sanchez (Euskaltel) | 541 | 4 | Frank Schleck (Leopard) | 459 | 5 | Roman Kreuziger (Sky) | 546 |
Cunego has just dominated this season. He's had a few high places in GT's and he's won most hilly classics. Kreuziger makes the Top 5. After not racing until the Tour de Suisse, he was the highest riser each month, and clearly not racing till June really paid off for him.
Team
1 | Leopard Trek | 1743 | 2 | Lampre ISD | 1530 | 3 | Euskaltel | 1278 | 4 | Sky ProCycling | 948 | 5 | Garmin Cervelo | 889 | 6 | Katusha | 880 | 7 | Pro Team Astana | 676 | 8 | Radioshack | 642 | 9 | Quickstep | 623 | 10 | AG2R | 617 | ....................... | 17 | Cofidis | 112 | 18 | BMC | 107 |
So with that BMC and Cofidis are relegating next season, which is really a surprise, atleast for BMC who had a very good team on paper.
Individual
1 | Bobbie Traksel (Landbouwkrediet) | 1032 | 2 | Sebastien Seidler (Team NSP) | 583 | 3 | Jure Kocjan (Team Type 1) | 433 | 4 | Elia Rigotto (Acqua & Sapone) | 416 | 5 | Marco Marcatto (Acqua & Sapone) | 397 |
No one was expecting these riders to lead the way, but boy did Traksel just dominate this season in the CT. It also helps when you ride 90 days.
Team
1 | Rabobank | 2568 | 2 | Saur Sojasun | 2412 | 3 | Landbouwkrediet | 2315 | 4 | Farnese Vini | 2017 | 5 | Acqua & Sapone | 1406 |
Traksel really helped his Belgian squad but in the end it wasn't enough for them to Promote. Rabobank gets back into the Protour after a season in the CT, so now Gesink should be riding atleast one GT next season. Saur Sojasun were underdogs all season but in the end got the results they needed thanks in part to Jerome Coppel. So the French have added another team for their domination, and Rabobank just never deserved to leave.

For some reason, I really love this screen. Just thought I would mention that, and don't think this is losing interest. This is still my favourite story going around and I really hope you keep it going.
BTW Great win and stat updates. |

Thank you! My thought with this screen was to try and get all of, David in the shot, the chasing Veranda's rider, and the charging peloton, as they go up the false flat, so thanks

David Veillexu - Season 2012 - A Look Back
In my first season with Sky, I think I did very well. I followed my role well, and played my cards right. After a lot of success with Europcar, I knew when I joined Sky that I would have to atleast put up some results, or I'd be shown the door. My main goal of the season was to do well at the GP of Quebec and Montreal, and altough I didn't accomplish my personal goals there, it was hapilly made up for with Eddy's win. I mean what can I say, that guys is just a beast.
I started the season in Italy at the Strade Bianche. I just missed out on a Top 20 there, so it was a rather decent start to the season. Then at De Brabanste Pijl I assisted Uran in his victory, so I felt very good. After that I took a short break until Turkey where I put up some of my best results of the season. I was leader of the Main GC, Points, KoM, and Youth Classifications for a while there before I lost it to a breakaway on Stage 5. I think that was sort of like the coming out party for me, in the bigger races. Then I had a bit of time to recover before my final two races of the first half of the season. The Tour of California was just a lot more success for me. I took home the climbers jersey and the Youth jersey which brought with it a bunch of attention from the Canadian media. It was a really great experience. My final race of the first half was also good. I top 10ed at the East Yorkshire classic, a sign of good form possibly.
The second half of the season didn't really start well for me. My first few races I wasn't ever near the front and my results were poor too. I was happy to share wins with Uran and Thomas in Italy though. And after that it was off to Canada. The first race didn't go very well for me, but in the second race I helped pull the BOTD back for my leader, and eventual winner Boasson Hagen. It felt great to directly set up my team mate for the win. And with that it was off to the Netherlands for the World Championships, but we might as well skip the chit chat about those races I went to Paris Tours and rode alright too but I honestly wasn't feeling that great. I quickly wanted to get the season over with so I didn't even spend much time on the bike before getting to Japan, but it seemed to pay dividends for me as I went out of the season in style, with a solo victory, all set up by Beppu.
Final 2012 Season: CQ Rankings
Rank | Name | Team | Points | 226 | David Veilleux | Sky ProCycling | 233 |
This season I ranked 226th, and actually I was tied with both Leif Hoste and Stuart O'Grady, so that is an amazing accomplishment. I'm the second highest ranked Canadian rider, behind Ryder Hesjedal who was inside the Top 10 so I think I did very well. I'm just looking forward to next season now. Oh and there seems to be a lot going in with transfers and stuff so I'll be sure to tell you more about that later.
Bye for now,
David

May be a tad late but nevermind: I really like your story and even though I don't comment often I follow it closely as I like reading about "smaller" riders and their achivings, like with your Spidertech (the long one ) wich i enjoyed immenseley.
For the "becoming better" part I would really like to see the stats of the winners for each stage, if it's not to much trouble. I would also like if you keep on reporting like you do for the races where Davids not around.. but perhaps for the GT he's not riding you could include some pictures from the finish on important stages, take a look at cunego59's story and his Vuelta report to see what i'm talking about..
And last but not least, good luck for 2013 and great win in Japan

Transfer Season Sponsor Changes!
[img-l]https://www.lookcycle.com/media/catalog/product/cache/2/small_image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/l/o/logo_quickstep.jpg[/img-l] [img-r]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/92/Omega_Pharma.svg/170px-Omega_Pharma.svg.png[/img-r]
<----->
Quisktep and Omega join forces!
In a rather shocking development Quickstep and Omega Pharm will be joining as Co sponsor of the former Quickstep Team. This gives the team a lot of money to spend, and most importantly for the cycling fans, a new jersey to purchase. The biggest news is that Gilbert will not be joining the team where he will stay with his currently unsponsored team. Quickstep now probably have the strongest Classics team with many riders strong on the cobbles.
More news to come!
GreenEdge Joins in on the Fun!
After last seasons mishap with Pegasus a new Australian sponsor has gotten behind cycling and will be forming an Australian powerhouse. Many strong Australians are expected to join the team, but for now we aren't sure. Could Evans join? This is a team with real possibilities. I know a lot of Australians are leaving Sky, so certainly a few are available for Greenedge.
Rock Racing Re-Enters Sport!
After an absence of a couple years, Rock Racing decided they would make one last feeble attempt at a cycling team. The team is expected to sign a lot of former dopers and force the riders to "Ink their whole Body" to pass the teams internal rules. One thing can be said though is that they have a great jersey.
Stay tuned for more Sponsor Changes, before a Transfer Recap!

I waited longer to comment on this epic story First of all amazing win with David, and it adds to it that's his favourite country, so getting win there must have felt amazing Great pics ( as always ). Great summary of the rankings, Kreuziger had fine season and Sky finished well high in Pro Tour.
Glad you have enjoyed the season at Sky And hope you develop further and futher. Your fans.
Now for some exciting Transfer News !

A bit late, but great win in Japan Cup with David! I'm glad that you will continue the story for another season, since it's one of my favourites.
Also, I would like to say that the screenshots in Japan Cup was just outstanding. Especially this one:
Keep up the great work!

Nice team changes. I like to see Rock Racing back. So I understood it correctly that Lotto will rest a team as well? With them being still the/a sponsor or with a new one?

Hopefully in the future you cave and reply right away Yeah it was awesome. And thanks again, you have some very nice SS's as well Thanks for compliments on the Rankings, it took me a while, but I took a look at some of the most successful writers to see what they had done there, so that compliments cant go all to me.
Sky is a great team!

Better late, than never Thanks you're too kind Again thanks for the gratz on the screenshots, I guess I just have an eye for taking good screens, because I dont feel like I'm doing anything incredible, but thanks anyway, those type of compliments are really flattering

Yeah I figure if I didn't add them, I'd lose motivation for not having an updated database, as I often do. But thats not the only team being added....
And thanks although I think Dominik Nerz is way better than mine. He puts in so much detail, but thank you, and I'm learning some things to hopefully improve my story too!

Thank you! Thats good. And I can confirm that Lotto will be continuing, although I still have a bunch of Sponsor reports to go, hopefully only two big reports. I just couldn't wait to finally reveal some new teams.
Thanks for the comments everyone, keep them up!
