To me it sounded like they were booing him. I hope they were, and that it wasnt just wishful thinking that they were.
You might be right, definitely some booing - but certainly some fans were applauding

I guess it was tactically the numbers game, at the moment Vino and Kolobnev went, Contador and Rodriguez were there in the front group at the time.
We are going to have to deal with this, Vino is a guy from the old order... he isn't the only one.
It was an amazing L-B-L not perhaps the result that cycling fans will rejoice but exciting racing nethertheless. |

What a bunch of sprinters in the battle for 6th. A. Schleck won it.

My first reaction was one of horror.
Then I looked at who he was beating, and you'd have to say - well done. |

Just a shame that Valverde didnt want to work with Evans and Gilbert. Had they caught the front 2, that would at least have increased the odds of an acceptable winner from 1/2 to 3/5.

You do realise he is most certainly still doped up to the eyeballs?

Corrected - as isso said, Kolobnev is implicated in the latest Spanish drug ring

That's why I said I looked at who he was beating and changed my mind.
Well done to Vino, he was the strongest - though Kolobnev should kick himself as looked as if he put a little more work. |

Well, theres a grouping of suspicious riders, or previously banned riders, who you would prefer not to win.
And then theres 'elite' group of riders who you really despise, and wish theyd just crash down a mountain side and never return to cycling. This group is reserved for Ricco, Vinokourov and Valverde.

What is the point of serving a two-year ban if you are all going to act like this? Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, everyone who serves his sentence deserves a chance for a fresh start. I may be naive but I just like to enjoy the show no matter who's in.
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?
