I hope Gesink will crush the opposition on Angliru. In this form TdF-Vuelta-World RR seems realistically. Why you simulate WC?
Also I don't understand why Anton now have 82 MO and last year had 84.He doesn't have over 34 years.

dienblad doesn't edit (much), I think. Some riders start going downhill from 30 or some even 29-28 in the database. |

I don't edit much, you're right. Anton just developed this way in my story, fine with that. Some are better than irl, some are worse.
And about Gesink and the worlds: he only wants to race the TT, not the RR, he rejected being on the provisional selection list...

September preview
September is a quiet month. Besides the Vuelta that is half way, we only race the 2 Canadian WT-races, as well as 2 races in Belgium. Oh, and the Worlds are.
Monthly goals
- Win the Vuelta a España.
- Win 1 of the 3 classics.

Stage 12
The 12th stage from Ponteareas to Pontevedra is a typical transition stage. The GC-contenders need an easy day, it has to many hills for the sprinters, so a breakaway is expected.
Finish
And the stage develops as expected. 12 riders form the BOTD and we aren't interested in chasing them, so does no other team. The 12 sprint for the win, with Heinrich Haussler beating Franco Pellizotti and Jure Kocjan. The peloton finishes at 11'27.
No GC-changes.
The Results
1 | Heinrich Haussler | Radio Shack - Nissan | 3h57'15 | 2 | Franco Pellizotti | Lampre - Alitalia | s.t. | 3 | Jure Kocjan | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 4 | Joost Van Leijen | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 5 | Matthew Lloyd | Pro Team Astana | s.t. | 6 | Iban Mayoz | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. | 7 | Alan Pérez | AndalucÃa - Catalunya | s.t. | 8 | Mitja Mahoric | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 9 | Guillaume Levarlet | Team Europcar | s.t. | 10 | Johnny Hoogerland | Sony Ericsson | s.t. |

Stage 13
The peloton leaves Galicia is the 13th stage and heads to Castilla y León for the first of 3 consecutive, and probably decisive, mountain stages. The 149km stage features 5 categorized climbs, including 2 of the 1st category, the Alto de Folgueiras de Aigas (9.8km at 6.6%) and the Puerto de Ancares (18.8km at 6.0%). After the summit of the Ancares, 55km remain, including 2 smaller climbs.
80km to go
It's no surprise that Gregory Bernard is in the BOTD again, given the fact that there are a lot of KOTM-points to be collected today. Together with Sylwester Szmyd (Vacansoleil), JoaquÃm RodrÃguez (Katusha), Tom Danielson (Garmin), David Jai Crawford (Qantas), Jens Voigt (Radio Shack) and Paul Martens (Rabobank), he arrives at the summit of the Alto de Folgueiras de Aigas with a margin of 7'05 to the peloton.
55km to go
2 riders have managed to bridge the gap between the peloton and the BOTD: Remy Di Gregorio (Europcar) and Kanstantsin Siutsou (Movistar). Expecially the presence of the Belarussian, GC's number 11, is surprising, this early in the stage. But with 4 riders within the first 11 of the GC, Movistar can play multiple cards,
Siutsou and Di Gregorio ascend the Puerto de Ancares at a pace that high, that only Szmyd is capable of following them. The others get dropped and fall back in the peloton one by one. The peloton (thinned out to 44 riders) follows at 6'12.
36km to go
It lasts untill the Puerto de Lumeras before the first riders out of the top 10 attack. Thomas De Gendt (6th) is the first one, and he gets countered by Robert Kiserlovski (7th), Alberto Contador (4th) and Amets Txurukka (8th). Robert Gesink is being attentful in the front of the group, but decides to wait.
22km to go
This is the start sign for continuous attacks by GC-contenders. Contador again, Soler, Baredo, Kiserlovski again, all try to attack. Then at the last climb of the day, the Alto de Ocero, also Juan José Cobo attacks, countered by Stefan Denifl, Ezequiel Mosquera and Peter Kennaugh (in the white jersey). Gesink has been isolated already, so this time he has to react himself, and does so pretty easily.
20km to go
Meanwhile, the 3 leaders have arrived at the summit of the Ocero, and Di Gregorio tries one desperate attack, to drop the 2 others. But with Siutsou going to chase him on the flat, he knows this ain't gonna work. The group of favourites follows at 5'15.
Finish
It's the ideal scenario for Sylwester Szmyd. With Siutsou doing the work to chase Di Gregorio, he can sit in the wheel of the Belarussian. And when the sprint starts in the streets of Ponferrada, he has absolutely no trouble in outsprinting the 2 exhausted opponents. Siutsou finishes in 2nd after th Polish, and Di Gregorio in 3rd.
Gesink gets a little help from Bradley Wiggins, who sets the pace of the group of favourites working for his team leader Cobo. Consequently, no attacks occur, and the group finishes at 3'50. GC's number 3 Carlos Barredo and his team mate Mikel Astarloza are missing here and they loose 1'32 to the other favourites.

Today's Winner
Word from the DS
If there is one thing that became clear today, then it was that our team is too weak to control a mountain stage. Luckily Gesink is very strong, but hopefully there is at least 1 team mate that survives the Puerto de San Lorenzo tomorrow, before the final ascend to Lagos de Somiedo.
