Stage 7

i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-0.jpg

Probably last stage where we can expect some changes in GC. Nico Eeckhout joined daily break.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-1.jpg

Last serious hill in Tour, Main contenders didn´t wait and attacked. As Deignan did. Huge leading group has formed ahead, including early breakaway riders.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-2.jpg

Tomasz Smolen, number 3 overall launched attack with 21km to go!
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-3.jpg

As he was threating rider for GC, group of 6 riders (Guillou, Roesems, Tanner, Cancellara, of course Breschel and Eeckhout) started to chase him.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-4.jpg

Another attack of Florian Guillou, Tanner has been dropped and Smolen chased down.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-5.jpg

Fabian Cancellara sneaked away from leading group, he built small gap shortly before sprint.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-6.jpg

Last kilometer, Fabian still in lead...
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-7.jpg

But Smolen is superstrong in British Tour and mode forward. Nico tried to keep his rear wheel...
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/18092010b-8.jpg

Tomasz Smolen took great win ahead of Nico Eeckhout and another veteran rider Bert Roesems. Finally, we achieved podium place.

Tour of Britain is over. Although we didn´t achieve any of two goals here, sponsor´s confidance is still in good level, which is good Smile 7th place of Philip Deignan is more then I expected. On the other hand I can´t be satisfied with only one podium place.

Last race before World championship. Due to several hills in second part of race, there are no well performed sprint trains. Vanmarcke and Eeckhout must rely on themselves.

thank you Smile
I think I´m 7th atm, with little chance to move up to 6th or even 5th place
I´ve already signed some new irish youngsters, Brittish hope Rhys Lloyd and Belgian climber/puncheur Tom Stubbe. I´m afraid I don´t have any chance to sign some big name Sad

no Grin Kreuziger has 75, Rabon 57...due to poor fitness, Rabon was replaced by Mares for road race, he has 75 as well...

Typical cicruit race suitable for sprinters...I was really surprised, when I found Eeckhout, Maes and Vanmarcke on startlist. It´s a big satisfaction for my team. But in fact, I can´t expect much from them here, Boonen and Steegmans are better sprinters.

Road Race

i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-0.jpg

Race was quite boring, breakaway of 6 (Ribeiro, Forero, Dekker, Wrolich, rodriguez and Galimzyanov) spent most of time in front. Their biggest advantage was about 11' and were caught about 70km before finish line.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-1.jpg

60km to go, O´Grady,Pozzato and Eeckhout decided to go away.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-2.jpg

But they didn´t cooperate together...Eeckhout was quickly caught, O´Grady and Pozzato continued both alone.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-3.jpg

Pozzato was caught 13km before finish.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-4.jpg

Peloton chased down Stuart O´Grady just before sprint.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-5.jpg

Sprint was unorganized, there were seen Spanish (but where was Freire??) and German jerseys in front, even Roman Kreuziger in national jersey of Kazachstan...Baden Cooke and Edvald Boasson Hagen in left.
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-6.jpg

Baden Cook led inside last kilometer with Edvald in his back...
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-7.jpg

...but he hit the wall and EBH moved forward...
i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt229/sarinka9/27092010-8.jpg

...Edvald Boasson Hagen is new World Champion!!! Fabian Wegmann finished 2nd ahead of Fabian Cancellara, who collected another medal from Melbourne!

Anton 4th, it really was a crazy sprint

there was hill in each lap and pure sprinters haven´t energy for sprint...I´m not sure, but Anton didn´t sprint, just was one of many Spaniard in last part when they chased O´Grady or tried to prepare sprint for Valverde or Rojas and stayed ahead Grin
