What a win! Red already Wink

Fantastic start for Henry, let's hope he can keep this level, or even improve Wink

- Great to see this story being nominated for the awards, gratz Smile

But Sofia saved his life, that can form a bond too. And she's a dancer so that might wooo Henry enough to lose all sense. Grin

Well done!

And I think you have found a very good balance between racing and personal life in the story, which to me seems to be where most 1-rider stories eventually end up losing me along the way. A couple of well-deserved nominations for you and this story.

Yes, the nomination (and my vote Wink) is most definitely deserved. A 1-2-3 in the TT was also great, though Nico dissapointed me on stage 2. Frown

Shonak - Not too many in my life, but in Henry's life Pfft Keeping that jersey is the dream, but I don't think it's possible. We'll see. Thanks for the kind words, mate! You're an amazing follower here, can't thank you enough for that Wink And I hope to keep this story around for a very long time!

PCMDaily Stats Discussion would've been interesting to follow indeed Pfft

Selwink - Yeah, "Only" 19 stages left Pfft Hard part is over Grin

duxili - Henry might be a supertalent in cycling, he certainly does not know how to read women Pfft

anderspcm - Thanks! I was quite surprised by the nomination, actually. I thought my story was still too short for getting that nomination!

Shonak (2) - Very valid point. Dancers Cool

Atlantius - Thanks, I've wondered about that balance a lot in previous stories and I quite like the balance I've finally found now. Glad to see you share that opinion Smile

Dippofix - Great to hear you voted for me, much appreciated Smile I'm not sure what was wrong with Nico. I think his hill stat + form did it. He's peaking for week 3, so his shape is not brilliant just yet. Henry, on the other hand, has had months without form, so I was able to let him peak 2 weeks in a row easily.

Thanks for the big support!
It seems I've worked myself into a corner. Not sure where I'll go with Sofia - Becca. I guess I'll have to make a decision myself now, too Grin

More Vuelta action later today, I hope Wink

And I love Her - Part IV
When I finally got Becca on the phone, she sounded like I would look after riding Paris - Roubaix.

"Hey, Becca. How have you been?" Where have you been staying now?"
"Henry, I'm back in Paris, back with Gunther."
"What? No, you can't, that guy is --"
Tuut --- Tuut --- Tuut.

Motherfuck! She hung up on me.
She was back in Paris with that SoB.
That aggressive, hitting, bad apple SoB.
I couldn't let that happen, she was worth more than that.
I needed to save her.

I was going to Paris!

More Vuelta action for you!

Vuelta a España - Stages 3 - 5
The three next stages were classified as flat ones, but don't let that fool you.

Stage 3
imageshack.us/a/img844/4433/gac5.jpg

This one was fairly easy. We took a gamble and didn't participate in chasing the breakaway. These stages are for the sprinters.

imageshack.us/a/img46/1058/g1ry.jpg

And when I say sprinters, I mean Cavendish, really.

imageshack.us/a/img855/9164/yt2u.jpg

Stage 4
imageshack.us/a/img545/7308/k7rb.jpg
We didn't see any danger here for the GC. Let the sprinter teams chase again. This was another one for the pure sprinters.

imageshack.us/a/img812/5692/u0fd.jpg

And when I say sprinters, I mean Cavendish, really.

Stage 5
imageshack.us/a/img845/8166/e158.jpg
Classified as flat, but this is a dangerous stage. That final hill might split up the bunch. There even may be attacks!

And the climb was quite hard. The sprinter teams took control of the pace.

imageshack.us/a/img560/5488/ot0e.jpg

And there came the gap...

imageshack.us/a/img811/1162/z0bo.jpg

There was no time to think and see who was where. The pace was incredibly high. I only had Poels with me, where was Roche? And Rodriguez?

imageshack.us/a/img849/3417/u0dx.jpg

The gap grew and grew. OPQS really made this race today. With a thinned out bunch, I might have a chance here. Everyone was tired, after all. That hill took it out of the sprinters.

imageshack.us/a/img839/6207/exvb.jpg

Uh-Oh, but Valverde took the stage, and the boni seconds!

imageshack.us/a/img546/3550/rh78.jpg

...And Rodriguez, he came along minutes behind, just like Roche, unfortunately...

imageshack.us/a/img17/3051/z9q4.jpg

We're still not quite sure how Roche ended up behind... He was fine on the top of the hill, but in the downhill somewhere the split was made... He just missed the cut.

Analysis & Daily Thoughts
I'm still in the lead, with 1 second to spare! I must say, despite me being a direct opponent to Valverde and Rodriguez, the Spanish audience has been very warm towards me. Let me tell you, jerseys change lives, don't let anyone ever tell you any different. Whether it is a national, a world, a KoM or a leader jersey, it makes you stronger as a cyclist and makes the audience go crazy just a little bit.

Tomorrow we go into the mountains. Hope Roche can bounce back there. I will be present, that's for sure!

See you then,
Henry

What is this going to be? A romantic movie? Our young hero going out to save and win back his beloved... Pfft

Some nice action in spain, Roche a bit dissapointing, but i'm sure Henry can keep the jersey for another few days. After all, Nico managed to keep Nocentini in yellow at le Tour a few years back for ten days or something, and Nico is stronger than back then and Henry is better than Nocentini, so looking good. When I say looser, I mean Roche, really Angry

Nice fight though and the Red is suiting you well. Is that because of your feeling when you heard about Gunther

Still extremely close but at least there can be no doubt now as to who is captain of Citigroup

Nice to see Henry defending his lead, looks like Valverde is in pretty good shape, I'm pretty sure he'll be hard to beat in the GC Smile

Valverde damn close now, but Nibali and Hesjedal too. Still it's too early to tell. Bring on the mountains. Cool

I'm actually wondering if it wouldn't be wiser to lose the jersey for now and save the power. Then again, Citigroup brought their A-squad for climbing to this Vuelta, so they might even be strong enough to counter many attacks.
