Cobbled TTs are possible yeah. If you ride them, it won't crash. If you simulate them, uh-oh.
But it's all fine.
@TMM Probably everyone will suit a stage-type that favours their leader in some way(see one of the first posts of page 24). There'll probably be a variety of type of leaders(stage-racer bad TT, stage-racer medium TT, stage-racer good TT, Explosive climber, stage-racer with cobble ability, pure cobbler, cobbler that's good over hills, good TTist, good prologue rider, flat sprinter, uphill sprinter, sprinter that goes well over mountains, explosive puncheur, great attacker etc etc etc.).
You'll have a lot of variety in stages...
If someone wants to use the format I have been using (scoring system etc) and make a load of changes and start up something similar ( someone like Jesleyh, The Hobbit, Ollfardh) that would be good. As I probably won't get around to starting another one for a month at least.

But surely the Stages should be picked ahead of the riders to avoid this blatant stage picking to suit your team?
You can pick a stage to suit the team you'd like, but there should be a chance that is not the team you would necessarily get. Of course that would depend on the system of rider selection and what riders are available, which is much more important than the route for a good game.
The reason this discussion has come up so quickly is because of the lack of challenge to Samu at the moment, because of the rider restrictions limiting the real GC contenders to about 3 guys at best, and frankly only 1 guy was ever going to win.
Rider availabilities are much much more important. You need as wide a variety of challengers as possible to make a good race. 4-5 potential winners for the GC, 4-5 for Points, 4-5 for Youth or whatever. You need options so that every team should have a real chance to win something serious, otherwise what's the point of having the team if you're not going to win in a one off race event.
Thanks everyone for taking part in TOTC 2 and thanks for your advise. I have chosen a route with cobble stages, only a few mountain stages and plenty of hilly/ hard men stages as well as the odd classic for TOTC 3. So good look at picking the GC winner!
The thoughtful user who works out whether it is better to have a sprinter or a climber or a cobbler as their leader may profit in the UC rankings this time around.
TOTC 3 will be starting on Sunday, the riders eligible have been hand selected and placed into nine pots to avoid a one rider domination. The selection process is much more simplified and we will be keeping the serpentine system.
Pretty much everyone who took part in TOTC2 can take part... unless you failed to PM me your draft picks because you said you were going on holiday only to start 2 stories the next day!!!!
I can feel TOTC3 will be a good one so eyes open on December 1st.

Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!
Looks good.
Before it starts, you have to post the profiles though, since your description still doesn't give any clue of what kind of rider we should pick

Aer Lingus is up for more, keeping the same jersey as before please
Glad to have you back. I am really confident TOTC3 will dwarf the previous versions in every way. The new thread/ route/ eligible riders will be up tomorrow morning.
