Ollfardh
If it really doesn't work, could you forward the startlist PM to Atlantius?

Thanks both for the help
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Stage 1: Barzan Towers – Doha Golf Club

i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-1_zps925ae5bb.jpg

*** Favourites ***
Cavendish (OPQ), Kittel (ARG), Goss (OGE)

** Outsiders **
Brookes (BAR), Boonen (OPQ), Nizzolo (RLT), Matthews (OGE), Coquard (EUC)

* Can’t be underestimated *
Petacchi (OPQ), Richeze (LAM), Steegmans (OPQ), Phinney (BMC), Hushovd (BMC), Guido (MTN), Sinkeldam (ARG), Davis (OGE)

i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-2_zps64865aa4.jpg
A diverse peloton setting off
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-3_zpsecae36bb.jpg
In spite of the odds Zakarin, Di Silvestro and Traksel are of right at the start.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-4_zpsf714d0f4.jpg
Plenty of teams helps keep things closed early on.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-5_zpsc21955c9.jpg
It’s Planckaert, Stallaert and Chavanel on the first intermediate sprint. A strong start for Crelan!
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-6_zps3ed654e4.jpg
Things finally settle down after the sprint and a 12-rider break established. With 55 km to go they have 3’50’’
Chavanel (EUC), Planckaert & Stellaert (CRE), Di Serafino & Rosa (AND), Kreder (VCD), Brutt (KAT), J. Keogh (UHC), Di Corrado (BAR), Kurri (AJW), Mironov (RVL) and Brammeier (CSS).
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-7_zps796ae060.jpg
Crelan not quite as dominating on the second intermediate. Planckaert takes it ahead of Keogh and Brutt.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-8_zpsc989357e.jpg
Gretsch leading the chase with 25 km to go and a gap of 1’30’’
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-9_zps8697f0f0.jpg
Kurri won’t give up, but with less than a minutes gap and 20 km to go things don’t look too good.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-10_zps6aad8a6e.jpg
6 km to go and the sprinters can start worrying about their leadouts.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-11_zps235e243d.jpg
With 3,5 to go we have two distinct trains. Argos for Kittel has the slight edge, while Cavendish has found a spot at the back of the Orica-train.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-12_zps84ef6c88.jpg
2,4 and everything is both quit and level. Cavendish has skipped to Kittels wheel while Nizzolo has taken the wheel of Goss.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-13_zps812c40c3.jpg
With 1,5 km to go things suddenly start breaking up in the turn. Matthews leading out Goss in front with Sinkeldam for Kittel and Petacchi blasting towards the front for Cav.

Cavendish doesn’t quite see him coming and the mission fails.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-14_zps279106cf.jpg
800 m left and these are the ones fighting for the win.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-15_zpscba211d3.jpg
500 m Cavendish is coming fast, but Goss has only just left Matthews' wheel.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-16_zpsbef4cd48.jpg
200 m it’s Cavendish, Nizzolo, Goss and Kittel coming from behind.
i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q675/AllanHG/EPIC/EPIC-Qat-1-17_zps4a843ecd.jpg
Cavendish does what he does best.

Nice win for Mark, but there will be some speech. We can't fail like that in forming the sprint train!Angry
Die hard fan of Tom Boonen and Quickstep since 2004.

Where was the mighty Bardiani train? Well done to Fabian doing all that on his own! next time I expect a proper dominant performance!

Great to see di Silvestro attacking in his first race. Too bad he couldn't get into the BotD. Wink

Nice victory for Cavendish, although shouldn't Stannard be wearing the British NC jersey?

Ollfardh
Top 10 for Guido on his first race, not too bad!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

sutty68
Great sprint from Richeze on stage one, hopefully the sign of a turn of fortune for the Lampre boys Smile

He should, but for some reason it appears the PCM11 .cdb have the 2013-champs in stead of the 2012-champs.

A bit unfortunate, but nothing gamebreaking so the results stand. It would be nice if someone finds a solution, but this is low piority Wink

Since Neillster is still busy with San Luis, it might be best if we get a substitute for Langkawi. Maybe TMM can take this one? If not someone else?

Finally, we can see Aceent Jobs doing something.
He hope more breakaways in the next stages.

From stage 3 all 2013-NC's have been removed. Of the ones marked as former NC's none of them are 2012-champs but if anyone has a National Champion in the race PM me and I'll add it (no reason to clutter this thread with that)

When the hell was Gretsch German champion??

Solid start for BMC, 13th. I'm hoping there will be harder stages ahead where Ballan can kill everyone Cool

Also, @The Hobbit, I can't tell if you're being serious or not but Brookes should not be getting any higher than 10th here, regardless of his team. It's on PCM11 where RES actually works so all of the custom riders are at a major disadvantage with 65.

The Hobbit
Yeah, GP. Also, someone should really have remembered that...

And, what do you mean, am I being serious. All I said was that he did well, the train didn't and next time I expect us to figure in the build up (prominently (hence domination (teheee three sets of bracket)))

Damn, good point there Brewers. Maybe, for the older PCM .cdbs, we should higher the RES up to 70?

And good Top 10 for Coquard ofc. I don't have the feeling that it'll get better than that in Qatar...
