Sky website says 69kg. Measurements for team sites are taken in january or so, so let's say a peak racing weight of 67 or so. Sounds more believable.
Well, believable now that AICAR exists. 10 years ago you'd be laughed off the stage with that number.
How much did Armstrong and his closest competitors weigh during the 2003 Tour then?
I don't think there's reliable figures on that. By how he looked and according to google, he had a peak weight of 71 kg. So probably around that when peaking between 1999 and 2004, whereas with AICAR in 2009 it was probably 3 or 4 kg less.
2003 was particular, as he was relatively weaker than during some of his other wins, which could be explained by one or two extra kilos.
His weight pre-cancer was around 75 kg when peaking, so much for the dozen of kilos he's supposed to have lost because of cancer...
Even though many riders are so light because of AICAR these days, it's much more to my liking (sadly for me) to have light riders being the fastest up the mountains, rather than riders ranging in the mid-70 low-80, Ã la Ullrich/Armstrong/Indurain, etc.

In other news, Thor Hushovd (BMC) wins first stage of Tour du Haut-Var ! Quite a surprise. But nice to see him back to winning ways.
1. Hushovd
2. Slagter
3. Vichot

You should calculate their BMI's if you want to compare them.

Bloody brilliant to have him back. Hopefully he can stay clear of illness this year. |

Great to see Hushovd winning again. Last season was just a season to forget for him. I doubt he will be back to his 2011 season, but he hopefully has a nice classic season. |

No. That wouldn't make sense.
BMI works for normal people, not for modified human beings. If your activity, condition or occupation implies a special muscle to weight or fat to weight ratio, then BMI is not relevant any more.
Their percentage of fat would make sense for inter and intra comparisons. I guess we could then figure out who's on AICAR or not.

Just as I expected. Anyway, Edmonson in 7th, big result for him. Should be decided between Costa, Machado and Westra. Martin arrived 20 seconds later, he also might have a word to say. |

Seriously? 20 seconds, 35km TT.

Martin is going to take the GC easy as pie
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

Far too early to reduce it to 3-4 favourites:
Klöden +17s
Menchov +17s
Kwiatowski +19s
Martin +28s
or even Castroviejo +43s are all not out of the foght for the GC win.

Just 18, actually.
Klöden and Menchov are looking good as well.

This is the stage result. In GC it`s a bit more. But still 7-8 riders to fight for the GC I think. Not sure how many good TTers are still there in the Castroviejo group.
And nice to see Poels there. Seems to have a decent form after his long injury. |

Well yeah, I suppose it IS possible that Martin might crash or come down with a flu

I don't think anyone can challenge Martin this year. Maybe Costa makes a super time trial... |

Just worked it out, based off the statistics that are available on the Sky and Saxo websites:
Froome - 186cm - 69kg - 19.9 BMI
Contador - 176cm - 62kg - 20.0 BMI
No difference between them.
EDIT: Just seen Aquarius post underneath it, so just completely ignore all of that
On another note, brilliant to see Henao win today too
