It's an incredibly stupid policy from Sky. Wondering how exactly they're doing their best to support him? |

Not quite sure if this is actually October-news but the World Championships in Toscana 2013 have chosen Pinocchio as their mascot - perhaps not the best symbol of world class cycling at the moment?
Unless they have humour enough to mean this as a satirical comment - but should a World Championship be used for something like that?

The first time I saw it I instantly laughed figuring it was a comic - then I realized they actually meant it...

Paying his wage for a year up front as a "settlement fee" or some such pay off. And probably getting him a nice cosy job in another team. Wouldn't really be too hard for him to find one though I suspect.

I am pretty sure they designed the mascot a loooooooong time before the Armstrong disaster became obvious. But it is funny nevertheless. |

I don't know if you have already read it but i think that this manifesto deserves to be post here:https://www.gazzetta.it/Ciclismo/26-10...1135.shtml
The language is italian, unfortunately The Times put in its site only a piece of that so i've decided to post the complete one

Carlo Collodi, writer of the Pinocchio story, is born in Florence (capital of the Tuscany region). I guess that could be a reason.

I wonder if anybody here knows the story of Pinocchio? Pinocchio is not a notorious liar, in fact he cannot lie because everybody would recognise immediately.

Yeah, I know, but that association to lying is a bit difficult not to be made. |

Especially since they haven't made an effort to give Pinocchio a very short nose...
