@tsmoha
Thanks Well, I will probably fail, but witha good day form, maybe everything is possible... A podium would be great...
Giro d'Italia Stage 14: Ferrara - Asolo, 197,3 km
The start of an unbelievable hard last week at this years Giro d'Italia 2010. Today, we will pass the "Monte Grappa". Except (THANK YOU MANINDEMAAN) this horrible mountain (18,9 km; 7,9%), we whole stage is flat, so we can expect a lot of fresh rider which will attack here. But we have to notice that after the top, there are still 40km to the finish, so maybe the overall contender will roll together at the downhill and finish with the same time.
Team goals:
- No time loss / Gain time if possible (Leipheimer)
- No time loss / Support Levi in critical situations (Paulinho, Machado)
Favourites: Ivan Basso, Vincenzo Nibali, Simon Spilak, Luis Leon Sánchez, Domenico Pozzovivo. My tip: Irl, Vincenzo Nibali won this stage. It is also possible that he wins today...
A am not 100% sure, but I think this is the stage where the roads are very narrow and nobody attacks if you go on "dot" and high percentage.
So you an gain more than 5min on the next group.
This can be really annoying, because if you don`t go on "dot" your rider will lose time

That's right. I gained 6 minutes on the other favourites with Nibali on this stage in my Liquigas career using the dot. No favourites attack up the climb and the rider who is relaying at the front gets a gap to the pack and stops to wait for them all the time.
@lluuiiggii
Particulatery. I orientate myself on the loading screens, but I also look at the rider and add "my" favourites.
At the loading screens, Sergio Paulinho is rated as "Outsider" (2 stars) and Levi as "Don't underestimate" (1 star)...
@Roturn and Pellizotti2
I still did not play the stage... But I am a bit shocked now. What should I do, playing normal with "dot" (you know that I am not so strong in mountain stages, so maybe I will fail even with) or just "Main position" and not attack? I do not want that you think I "cheat"...
I would go on the "dot" and then 50-70% (try a bit), then you will probably stay in the field without losing power.
If you go on dot with 87% then you will win much time.
Over 87% and your pulse it too high.

OK, but if I see anybody doing an attack, I will probably counter At least, our goal is to defend the leader jersey...
Sánchez, supported by Moreau, accelerates without attacking. We were not able to react in time, so I had to set a higher pace to caught them (and the whole peloton dropped). Sorry
Pasamontes, Vorganov; +56" Stortoni; +1'39" Sánchez, Moreau; +2'12" Leipheimer, Machado, Paulinho; +2'37" Lloyd; +2'49" Spilak; +3'15" Pelotoon.
Thats the situation with only one kilometer to the top of the Monte Grappa. Our three rider caught Moreau and Sánchez, Spilak and Cunego joined us from bejind (both with dot accelerations) and still Pasamontes from the early group. We thought we could slow down, we did not wanted to gain time on this stage... But Sánchez attacked again...
Sánchez, Machado, Moreau, Pasamontes, Paulinho, Leipheimer, Spilak; +24" Cunego; +36" Vorganov; +1'43" Stortoni; +3'17" Peloton.
...and opened a gap of 25 seconds.
Sánchez; +25" Leipheimer, Machado, Paulinho, Spilak, Cunego, Moreau, Pasamontes; +1'23" Vorganov; +2'16" Stortoni; +3'04" Peloton.
Spoiler
Luis León Sánchez (Caisse d'Epargne) 10
Tiago Machado (RadioShack) 6
Sergio Paulinho (RadioShack) 4
Simon Spilak (Lampre) 2
Levi Leipheimer (RadioShack) 1
Well, Sánchez was caught soon, but this guy does not let us rest and attacked again at the little slope before the next downhill section...
Sánchez; +21" Gruppo Maglia Rosa; +1'33" Vorganov; +2'49" Stortoni; +3'38" Peloton.
Two kilometer before the intermediate sprint in Bassano del Grappa, Damiano now attacked, so he could get 8 points and a time gain of 10 seconds. In the second group, we saved us the -6" and -4" time gain.
Cunego; +12" Gruppo Maglia Rosa; +2'54" Vorganov; +3'11" Peloton.
This rider is terrible. Even on a downhill, Luis León Sánchez attacked us. He really want take the leader jersey today...
Sánchez; +7" Gruppo Maglia Rosa; +3'05" Peloton.
Thanks to Spilak, who set a high pace in the second group, he caught Sánchez almost on his own. But it was probably only tactic, because the other Lampre rider, Damiano Cunego, now attacked with only 5km to the line.
But Cunego failed, and almost directly after Cunego get passed, his team mate Spilak attacked, and still lead with only 1000m to the line! Our rider almost burned out completely and have already problem only to keep up with the other...
And Simon Spilak takes the stage victory! Luis León Sánchez wins the sprint in the second group (and gain 12 seconds on Levi ), but knowing that he closed the gap to Spilak with his strong sprint, we can forgive him^^
Depanding on this strange "bug", the peloton lost time today. They finished 2'18" behind Spilak (So fortunately "only" 2 minutes, so they still have a little chance...)
Circuit de Lorraine Stage 3:
1.) Mathieu Drujon (Caisse d'Epargne) 3h15'27"
2.) William Bonnet (Bbox) +0"
3.) Samuel Dumoulin (Cofidis) +0"
U23 - Ronde de l'Isard Stage 1:
1.) Thorsten Emmrich (GER) 5h21'59"
2.) Georg Nennesson (SWE) +21"
3.) Eduard Kilikevich (UKR) +21" I am still not sure, but the "Ronde de l'Isard" is the first U23-stage race which includes real mountain stages. Maybe we can annonce another sign in the next days
Thank you all As said, I tried to avoid that bug, but I could not Sánchez let ride alone.
I have doubts if we will really be able to hold the leader jersey, Sánchez, Cunego and Spilak looked strong, they are strong opponents. And the Liquigas rider are still in the race...
Well, he is 38. The oldest rider in our squad. And improve his skills Hopefully, he can hold this stats until April 2011...
+ 1 Hill
+ 1 Sprint
+ 2 Acceleration
+ 3 Stamina
+ 1 Recovery
Tour of California Stage 8: Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks, 138,1 km
Todays stage is the last chance to improve us in the overall. We pass this hilly circuit four times. Though it is a flat finish, it will be probably to hard for the sprinters, and I think we can expect many attacks at the climbs.
Team goals:
- Gain time for a podium overall (Armstrong)
- No time loss / Help Lance in critical situations (Klöden, Leipheimer, Brajkovic, Zubeldia).
Favourites: Alexandre Vinokourov, Cadel Evans, Alberto Contador, Roman Kreuziger, Michael Albasini My tip: Vinokourov is probably not to beat.
I'm looking forward to your performance in Californias's last stage It's definitely an interesting stage. If there will be attacks, the pack could split into several groups, so there's still a chance for Lance
@All
I am really sorry, but I was quite busy today and have not enough time to post the next stage, but I think I will probably be able to post it tomorrow afternoon.
@Pellizotti2
Why not No, of course I mean Popovych and not Levi.
@roturn
I agree. Of course I saw that he had still a bit potential left, but I did not expect really an improvement with his age... Would be great if Lance could also improve
@tsmoha
You will see tomorrow, it was quite interesting to play
@baia
Thanks I agree, we have to look at him... But I also know that he already lost contact in the stage to the "Monte Terminillo", with a high pace, we maybe can gain time... I am happy that you all are not angry because I use this bug
@Porte
Thank you Well, I think I can not be to proud of that result because it was not to hard with this bug, but as said, I could not avoid it... Nonetheless it is nice to see Machado in the Top10 again.
The first cross of the Mulholland Hwy. In front 4 rider, Lars Boom (Rabobank), Gatis Smukulis (AG2R), Dean Downing (Rapha Condor) and Ian Bibby (Motorpoint). And there are several groups between them and the pack.
Boom, Smukulis, Downing, Bibby; +16" Kaisen, Firsanov, Hincapie; +45" Partridge, Goss; +1'02" Veilleux, Wrolich, Meyer, Quinziato; +1'41" Peloton.
Spoiler
Lars Boom (Rabobank) 6
Gatis Smukulis (AG2R) 4
Dean Downing (Rapha Condor) 2
Group Goss and Group Hincapie (nice to see that the american champion shows his jersey, knowing that the Tour of California is the biggest american cycling race) joined the front group.
Spoiler
George Hincapie (BMC) 6
Gatis Smukulis (AG2R) 4
Lars Boom (Rabobank) 2
The breakaway still 5 minutes in front.
Spoiler
George Hincapie (BMC) 6
Sergey Firsanov (Designa Kokken) 4
Matthew Goss (Colombia) 2
Just as usual, Astana set the pacemakers for the pack.
We are the last time on the Mulholland Hwy., and Lance accelerated, with Zabriskie and Evans at hius backwheel. Will they be able to go away?
Unfortunately not. Espescially Alberto Contador set an incredible high pace, so the little gap was closed soon. And probably they worked only for this moment: Alexandre Vinokourov with an unbelievable strong attack, he really blow away the other favourites.
Group Hincapie; +44" Bibby, Downing; +2'00" Vinokourov; +2'33" Group Armstrong.
Group Hincapie at the last mountain sprint in the Tour of California 2010.
Group Hincapie; +57" Vinokourov; +1'08" Bibby, Downing; +1'53" Group Armstrong.
Spoiler
George Hincapie (BMC) 6
Gatis Smukulis (AG2R) 4
Lars Boom (Rabobank) 2
Robert Kiserlovski, the young croatian climber who shows an amazing performance here in America, makes his move at the downhill.
Group Hincapie; +53" Vinokourov; +1'09" Downing, Bibby; +1'19" Kiserlovski; +1'39" Group Armstrong.
5km left, and it is already sure that the breakaway staw away today. Favourite for the sprint here is Matthew Goss, probably only Boom will be a serious opponent in the sprint.
Group Hincapie; +42" Vinokourov; +1'00" Kiserlovski, Bibby, Downing; +1'12" Group Armstrong.
The sprint begin. Goss already in front, with Boom in his slipstream. Maybe too early?
Group Hincapie; +28" Vinokourov; +48" Group Armstrong; +2'39" Group Contador-Brajkovic.
With 800m to go, Goss was still in front but Boom decides to make his move. The winner is...
... Matthew Goss. His second stage win, the second with an early attack. Boom, who was only a few centimeters behind, finished second. Vinokourov and Group Armstrong came in with a residue of 51 seconds.
Here they are, Yaroslav, Klödi and Lance finished between the 13th and 15th place.
