Again the end of the month is approaching! It´s the last chance to improve his shape for the first big stage race this year, the Giro. That means it´s also the last chance for Cavendish and Tony Martin ´cause their shapes aren´t really well at the moment. As you know Cavendish wants to go for the sprinter jersey in Italy and Tony Martin wants to get a good overall position in the end.The competition isn´t that hard as we thought before the prologue started. Our main contender should be Luis Leon Sanchez,Zubeldia,Hesjedal,Knees and Moerenhout
Team Columbia for Tour de Romandie
Tony Martin
Marco Pinotti
Frantisek Rabon
Bernhard Eisel
Mark Cavendish
Hayden Roulston
Kanstantsin Siutsou
Leigh Howard |

Stage 1 : Lausanne ITT
We could not call any favorites for today´s stage win while many riders are only there to improve their shape so it´s hard to say something about that.
Maybe Luis Leon Sanchez,Pinotti,Knees or Martin can show a good ride but it´s not sure up to here
Moerenhout was one of the biggest rivals when it comes to the overall and he showed a good performance today! He takes the lead with exactly 6 minutes
Another great climber is Zubeldia but he could not keep it up with Moerenhout´s time. He´s 9 seconds behind the Rabobank rider
Knees is one of those riders you never should underestimate, same today!
He´s confirming this with an amazing time beating Moerenhout by 11 seconds
After Rabon missed the time of Knees by only 2 seconds it was up to Marco Pinotti who wants to shine at the Giro.He really showed why he is the Italian ITT champion! And so he takes the lead for the moment by 6 seconds in front of Christian Knees
Next favorite for the overall was Hesjedal but he really disappointed today with a bad time.He lost 32 seconds to Pinotti on only 6 kilometres
Luis Leon Sanchez came with a great performance!Well,he couldn´t take the lead of Pinotti which means that at least one of our team will take the stage win while only Martin was on the road.Sanchez became 4th in the end 7 seconds behind the stage winner
There we go with the last rider of today!Tony Martin was setting another fantastic time beating his biggest rival Luis Leon Sanchez by 4 seconds! That means Pinotti takes a great stage win in front of his team-mate Tony Martin and Christian Knees.Great double there!!

Stage 2 : Montreux - Fribourg
After the great prologue we have especially one goal!We want to defend Pinotti´s yellow jersey. If Mark Cavendish and Bernhard Eisel will sprint for the stage win isn´t sure up to here ´cause there are some hard parts for them
It was an one-man show today by S.Davis! He did a great job but of course he hadn´t any chances to survive at the front
As we expected Cavendish was already bushed with only 7 kilometres to go!
With only 4 kilometres to go Eisel could not stay at the front anymore and so it was up to Siutsou,Martin and Pinotti. The last chance we had for today was to lead out Tony Martin while Pinotti and Siutsou aren´t great sprinters. At least we reached our goal,Pinotti will defend his jersey!!
The sprint begins and Martin makes his move but it doesn´t seem really strong. He´s even loosing speed and so Pinotti should be the best today
On the last 600 metres Boom takes the lead in front of Spilak and Marzano
But then came the Lampre power on the right and left side!!It´s going to be a close decision between two team-mates!
And it´s really close! You can´t see it exactly but Spilak takes the stage win in front of his team-mate Marzano and another Lampre rider with Hondo who could pass Boom on the last metres.Pinotti did a great job and his sprint was impressive as he could take the 9th position!
Stage results

Hope you´re right
But the next stage and the fourth should be harder while the 4th stage is another time trial which is pretty useful for us |

Stage 3 : La Chaux-de-Fonds - La Chaux-de-Fonds
The third stage is one of the hardest in Switzerland this year!We will pass a few KoM competitions today and we really hope that we can defend Pinotti´s yellow jersey..of course it will be hard especially when Sanchez will try something but we want to wear the jersey also in tomorrow´s TTT!
There were some escapes today but the best of them was Brutt who could get some KoM points which brings him the jersey for tomorrow
With more than 25 kilometres Sanchez made a move as we expected
But Siutsou was attentive and so he could counter the Spaniard. After many attacks by Moerenhout ,Moreno,Sanchez and Millar they were all brought back to the pack ´cause Siutsou and Martin could counter every move which means that Pinotti´s jersey was defended for the moment
With only 12 kilometres to go on the last uphill of today´s third stage Carrara made another move
But he was not alone with this idea Millar and Spilak went after him
Also Voeckler could follow them and he came with Pinotti who had to go on his own now while Martin and Siutsou couldn´t counter these attacks
And on the last 4 kilometres a leading group was built with Pinotti,Millar,Spilak,Carrara and Voeckler
As no one wanted to start the sprint Pinotti took the lead.Yesterday he showed an impressive sprint performance can he repeat that today? His advantage became bigger!
On the last metres Pinotti was still in front while Martinez came really fast
Martinez lost a lot of speed on the last metres and so Pinotti managed to get the second stage win!Of course he will also defend his yellow jersey
While Millar becomes second in front of Spilak, Eisel was able to hang on there and he took an amazing 7th place
