Wow the best Giro Presentation ever. Very original using those minishirts. Sky looks to be the strongest team there but my favourite team Caisse brought a good team as well. I hope you can do well. Lots of pressure, dont screw up now. I agree with batista that presentation was a little depressing for me also but I'll have to try something even better for my Giro presentation!

The 2010 edition of Giro d'Italia starts with an 8 kilometers prologue in Amsterdam. The main favorite to take the stage win is the World ITT Champion, Fabian Cancellara, but Luis Leon Sanchez, Tony Martin or Bradley Wiggins might be able to stop him
One of the Caisse d'Epargne guns, Vasil Kiryienka, came with a very good early time of 9 minutes and 11 seconds, taking the lead from his team - mate, Fran Perez, who was the first rider to start today
At the intermediate check point, Cancellera was in trouble as he was almost 20 seconds slower than Kiryienka. He managed to win a few seconds in the final kilometers of the stage but he still finished 11 seconds behind Kiryienka
The U.S. Champion and the Garmin leader, David Zabriskie had a nice ride but still he finished the stage 14 seconds behind Kiryienka and 3 seconds behind Cancellara
The Lampre leader, Damiano Cunego, took a nice start of his Giro, but he lost a few important seconds, finishing 35 seconds behind Kiryienka
Ivan Basso, who is Wiggins' main rival at taking the win in this Giro d'Italia, had a very good start losing just 17 seconds to Kiryienka, who looks to have come with an amazing time
The first rider that managed to bea Kiryienka's time was Brajkovic. The Slovenian Champion was only 3 seconds faster than Kiryienka but it was enough to take the provisional lead
But he couldn't enjoy the lead for too long as a few moments after him, Luis Leon Sanchez finished his ride. And the Spaniard took back the lead for Caisse d'Eparge, being 5 seconds faster than Brajkovic
Stefano Garzelli, one of the riders that have a nice chance to finish the Giro on the podium, finished 24 seconds behind Sanchez, but he was one second faster than Ivan Basso
Boasson Hagen started well his Giro, but he wasn't even close to beat Sanchez' time, finishing 15 seconds behind the Spaniard
The Italian Champion, Marco Pinotti, had a rather disappointing result, finishing 22 seconds behind Luis Leon Sanchez
Bruseghin tried to keep the results up for Caisse d'Epargne, but lost 24 seconds to Sanchez today, being the 4th Caisse rider, after the current leader, Kiryienka and Moreau
With Pinotti not riding at his best, Martin brought Columbia back in top. He took a place on the provisional podium, finishing just 6 seconds slower than Sanchez
The RadioShack leader, Yaroslav Popovych, didn't start the Giro as he would have wanted, losing no less than 27 seconds to Sanchez
Bradley Wiggins was the last rider to start but he wasn't even close to beat Sanchez' time finishing 12 seconds slower than the Spaniard. Still that result was enough for the 5th place
And Luis Leon Sanchez is the first wearer of the pink jersey in this year's Giro d'Italia, after a great performance from the whole Caisse d'Epargne squad. From the real favorites at winning the Giro this year, Wiggins is the highest placed, followed by Garzelli at 12 seconds and Basso at 13 seconds.

Sanchez didn't destroy Cancellara. The Swiss probably just had a bad day or he is out of shape as quite a few riders were faster than him

The second stage of the Giro is also held on Dutch terrain. There are 2 insignificant climbs on today's route and after the 209 kilometers of the stage, it all should end in a mass sprint. Pozzato and Boasson Hagen are the main sprinters present here, the Norwegian also having a nice chance to take the pink jersey if he gets enough bonification seconds
There were quite a few riders that tried to get away from the pack today but in the end only 4 of them were strong enough to do so: Sieberg, Ignatiev, Alex Rasmussen and Elmiger. Both Ignatiev and Sieberg won 4 KoM points, but it was the Russian who got the green jersey at the end of the day
The escapes were caught inside the last 25 kilometers of the stage and the pack head to the expected mass sprint. There the Sky train, lead by Arvsene, took control of the pack, Vacansoleil and Acqua & Sapone being the only trains that tried to keep it up with us but failed to
Vigano and Boasson Hagen were put in a perfect position by Arvesen, and with just 2 kilometers to go the Italian was leading the pack. Mori, Riblon, Paolini and Failli were trying to gain some terrain back but it looked almost impossible to catch the Sky riders
At the one kilometer banner, Boasson Hagen made his move and took the lead from Vigano, now the only riders that are close to him being the 2 Acqua & Sapone riders, Failli and Paolini
Inside the last kilometer, Boasson Hagen was unstoppable and took the stage win, followed by Failli and Paolini. Great way to start the Giro for the Norwegian and for Team Sky as well, a stage win in Giro being one of our sponsors goals for this season
20 bonification seconds also mean that we have a new pink jersey wearer. Only after one day, Luis Leon Sanchez had to let it go to Edvald Boasson Hagen, who now has an advantage of 5 seconds over the Spaniard, with one flat stage to go before the team time - trial. The Norwegian is also the new leader in the points and U25 competitions

5 wins would be too much, don't you think? Also, Vigano might get his chance at a stage win as well
