I'd say: the forum's nature PLUS their chief's attitude towards the board's future and his representative faces. They're losing most of the original spirit and that cannot send them to another way but its end. Well, they're old enough to think by themselves, and the site is theirs, so...
What you all can be sure of is that you'll be the first to know which projects I'll be involved in. A 2008 DB is not within my future plans, but, ok, let's wait and see how everything goes. |

Not to influence you or anything. But may i suggest you include some different kinds of cycling in your future DB-making plans? Like MTB or CycloCross?

That would be ridiculously hard - I don't think even Miya can do that

A cyclocross database is currently being built and ran by a PCM Benelux team that released a similar - outstanding project in 2007. I offered myself to test it but got no response. Those guys probably don't want to get foreign people involved because of the language (already experienced problems when entering the Savoluca-squad before it cracked up or in the PCM Spain 2006 pack).
MTB is an unknown terrain for me as I never followed mountain-bike races apart from the World's or O-Games... would be difficult for me to say more than 10 ridernames by heart... let me think... Absalon, Hermida, Vogel, Lejarreta, Simoni, Ruzafa... and no more than them! Definately, not a great chance. |

I was mostly referring to the way everyone slowly started to "live" in the off-topic forum and care for nothing else. the attitudes of the "heads" I can't really notice.
anyway, every forum comes to that time when it sort of stagnates. that's where the selection is sort of made, and you can never know which will survive. this forum, for instance, if it grows a little more, it'll come to the point where that might very well happen.
anyway, I don't really care if it's a season update (2008 DB, etc) or if it's something entirely different. as long as you like what you're doing, commitment will follow and naturally a good product will come. and that's ultimately what matters. so I'm not worried

Still, I will show my plans here when some brainwave in any moment gives me a nice - clear idea of how I can... how I can say it... "conquer your hearts again" so as to know it someone wants to help. |

I can't even begin to imagine what that's an obscure reference to

As Dankan said, it's possible. Just try out the Cyclocross DB for PCM06. It's available in the DL-section. Fantastic add-on. |

it's been a while since I've tried it. if I remember correctly, there's some kind of terrain that's supposed to simulate the part where they run with the bike, right?

Well, yes, they changed the road textures of the game. However, I don't think the "feel" changed.
What impressed me was the innovation and the detail of it. They had actually managed to change everything. The road textures were changed, the whole calendar had changed and an entirely new one had been built from the scratch, same goes with teams and riders, etc.. One hell of a work to do. |

Probably, it was the best DB ever released for PCM, along with the Giant's. Really, really nice work by the Belgian dudes. It's clear that passioned fans were behind the project. |

Nope - there's just cobble section, but with a different road texture if I remember correctly - and to make it properly, you'd have to integrate new animations and programming into the game - which is very, very tricky

Something has changed in a very, very positive way.
Details still to come. |

Just a quickie: I haven't reached the World's yet so I wouldn't know, but is a country like Luxembourg finally included in the lineup for this race?

Of course! Luxembourg and Slovenia were taken in as replacers for Kazakhstan (no stars, no win) and Lithuania (Vaitkus and Baranauskas are not worth being). |

i think the change of calender and roads is just a matter of time and how good your at graphic stuff. i structure now for the 2008 database also everything completly new but unfortunatly i am not a superb photoshop geek otherwise i would have made nice roads long ago. but yes thumbs up for new animations. i luad myself a lil into pcm but thats only a numb online hack which allows to change stats on fly. i unfortunatly don't have the time to work on a db, reverse engineer the .exe and .dll and to still play my career. so i decided not to go all bf2 or counter strike on this and so i only mess around with the db. but the engines code is not so difficult in pcm 2007. if they would release some code or headers a decent mod would be np. |

thanks for apologising
just joking of course
as Dankan has recently withdrawn from his role on the PCM Spain team, pcm.daily do not have a contact from the team anymore.
I would suggest registering on the PCMSpain website
and PM'ing one of the DB crew
