STAGE 2 : SEROCK - BIALYSTOK
With only 7 km to go our sprint train with Bodrogi,Galimzyanov,Markov and Swift looks great
The sprint begins and Galimzyanov knows his job he has to lead out Markov and Swift in a great position
The young Russian did his job brilliant and so it´s up to Markov ,who seems very strong and powerful, to lead out Swift
Markov is so fast that even Swift has problems to overtake him;Henderson comes on the right side
But on the last few metres Swift takes the lead and the stage win in front of Markov. It´s a great double for us!Ok the competition isn´t really strong but still a great result
Henderson becomes third and new overall leader because of the time bonifications

STAGE 3 : BIELSKI PODLASKY - LUBLIN
Swift took the stage win yesterday in front of his team-mate Markov but can we repeat that?Today´s stage at least give us the chance.
After the breakaway were caught with more than 20 km to go,especially Rabobank and Caisse kept the pace really high for their sprinters Leezer and Drujon. Our team saved the energy for the sprint but we´ve already had some problems with our sprint train because the speed was so high that we couldn´t come to the front of the pack.Bodrogi tried everything with his time trial ability.
With only 4 km to go Markov lost Bodrogi´s backwheel so our chance to win this stage was reduced again
The sprint begins and Traksel takes the lead;Swift made his move really early his chance to win another stage is almost zero!
However Swift is really fast there and maybe he can take a podium.Traksel is still in front and it seems that no one could beat him today. His team did a great job today especially his lead out man Westra
Traksel takes the stage really easy but Swift is still fighting for a podium and maybe the second position against Geslin from Francaise des Jeux
Bad luck!In the end he failed the second place behind Geslin but it was very close there. After a bad sprint preparation today we should be happy with this podium

STAGE 4 : NALECZOW - RZESZOW
After an unlucky stage yesterday we hope Swift can get another great result today. The stage is really flat expect two small hills in the last 60 kilometres,so I think we will see a mass sprint there
Galimzyanov was in today´s breakaway and he managed to win the first KoM competition there
After an attack by him he even could get the next 3 points and this means that he will wear the KoM jersey tomorrow!
Francaise des Jeux , Caisse and Vacansoleil are controlling the speed in the pack with only 10 km to go
With only 5 km to go our train with Bodrogi,Markov and of course Ben Swift looks great
And inside the last km Swift makes his move because the Columbia rider Rabon is far in front but his sprint abilities are not the best so it should be possible for Swift to pass him
Swift passed Rabon and it looks like the second stage win for the young Briton
That´s it!!Second stage win for Swift. He wins in front of Marinangeli and Westra

STAGE 5 : STRZYZOW - KRYNICA ZDROJ
After an amazing stage yesterday we are very optimistic for today!Swift is in a great form and maybe he comes over the last hills without loosing to much energy
There was a big breakaway today. It almost seems like every team was sending one rider in front
With only 10 km to go at the last hill of today´s hilly stage Luis Leon Sanchez, the favorite for the overall, starts the first attack while the breakaway is still in front
But Di Gregorio,Seeldraeyers,De La Fuente and Fedrigo don´t want to let him go
And also Botcharov starts an attack together with Ben Swift who is just in a fantastic shape!
After the last hills and the last attacks there is a big leading group with all riders of today´s breakaway and of course all favorites like Sanchez,Fedrigo.
But no one of them thought that De La Fuente attacks again after a short downhill section
Only Ben Swift could go after him and he seems faster than the Spanish guy
But De La Fuente can defend his position and he takes the stage win in front of Swift and Seeldraeyers.Again a great stage for Swift and also for our team because Botcharov even becomes 5th in the sprint
Stage results

STAGE 6 : KRASCIENKO NAD DUNAJCEM - ZAKOPANE
This stage will be the ´queen stage´of this years Tour De Pologne! It seems that Swift can´t come over this hard hills but we have still our captain Botcharov. But it won´t be easy today because it´s very hot there
On the last ascent of the day De La Fuente starts the row of attacks but Botcharov is on his backwheel.Behind them Sanchez,Fuglsang and Florencio start a counter attack
On the downhill Sanchez makes another move which looks very strong and fast
Sanchez is an amazing downhill rider his advantage becomes bigger and bigger
After the downhill is over the sprint begins and Botcharov could get a little gap to the chasing group but it seems that Sanchez will win this stage with his solo ride
Last kilometre for the leader Luis Leon Sanchez;Botcharov is still on the second position and he will defend it because Fedrigo &Co are far behind
Sanchez takes the stage and the leader´s jersey by 12 seconds to Sivtsov.Botcharov managed to become second in front of Fedrigo

This will be our team for Germany
Of course Ivanov will be our captain there and he will also try to get a good result there.Klimov and Rovny are the main protectors of Ivanov and they will also try to prevent that the great sprinters like Boonen,Freire,Bennati and Cavendish get a mass sprint. So it´s gonna be a hard and intensive one day race for our team. But with all the great results in the last races we are optimistic! |
