Since he got landed a contract in Quickstep, Devolder started training extra hard for some of the classics for next year. Good to know he's tracking his performance with the Polar.

No way Levi would go to Astana. He wants a sure chance at the Tour next year so he can win it and the way it is going at Astana, I wouldn't count them in the TOur Next year.

According to Spanish website sport.es, American Levi Leipheimer will swap his Discovery Channel jersey for that of Team Astana in 2008, after the American squad disbands at the end of this season. Rumours of Discovery's team manager Johan Bruyneel being courted by the Kazakhstan Cycling Federation (which manages the Astana team) have been rife in recent weeks, with the Belgian confirming to Cyclingnews that he has been contacted regarding a position.
Spanish websites are good at starting rumors are they not?

I'd say that's a heck of a lot more likely

You are right ofcorse..they have been wrong before..(rumors about Klöden move from Astana)...but it's always nice to speculate such like subjects..
Like isso thought..so am I...I think Cantador is more likely Bruyneel man and Astana after scandals are still ambition and rich team...and seems that there isn't so much teams who like to hire expencive TdF winner..with ? image.

I don't know why Levi hasn't gone for Slipstream. I mean, that team does fit all his needs, doesn't it? He can be the absolute leader, he will get OK support, and the team will most likely be invited to TdF 08. |

it's weird. Karpin-Galicia had announced he'd signed for them a couple weeks ago

well, I remember seeing the news on eurosport that he'd signed for Karpin. his older brother was leading the overall at the time, I believe.

This story looks like Quickstep making "blind shot"...older brother hugh success in Vuelta..
And ofcorse..when to choose Karpin or Quickstep (I would prefer Karpin..at least for one year) |

I think quickstep would be his best option because if he was to stay at Barloworld he would probably be in a Pro Tour Team anyway |

I dont think Barloworld have applied for a ProTour license though. They did well at the tour but they dont really have much strength in depth.
Sure, they are better than the likes of Bouygues and Euskaltel but I wouldnt really want to risk becoming a PT team at the moment if I were them, after what happened to Unibet.

sure, but when teams get promoted, they always sign more riders because of it.
they can't afford to sign the riders without knowing for sure that they'll be in the ProTour.
