Win Points Jersey
Jeeeeeez did we fail that one. Not even anybody in the top ten.
Two Stage wins
Did it. Two times Quinziato (not as shit as you thought Shonak, is he? ) and once Brammeier from the break. As we put down these goals we were expecting it to be Renshaw to get them, but hey, we're happy either way.
Be in the breakaway five times
Totally nailed it. Brammeier on his own probably fullfilled it, so we're very happy to have shown our colours in this TotC.

This was a very bad TOTC for us.
-> Two riders in the top ten (or at least one) <-
-> At least two stage victoreis (more are always welcome) <-
-> Top 5 in the UC (at least) <-
-> Drink as much coffee as possible (Nespresso, what else?) <-
-> Get 15 UC points with this awesome team presentation (nothing less) <-
We failed at all our goals, except for the last one. Maybe I should've written victories in stead of victoreis, then maybe they had understand what to do...

I don't drink coffee, and apparantly neither do my riders. Otherwise they would've been much better. So it could've been much more, but no.

It is nice to see that a decent amount of people have enjoyed this.
It will be the last TOTC mainly because I felt there wasn't a lot of people participating and often when people did participate they left messages such as 'so and so finished 37th' and 'I expected more from ....'. It was clear from a large chunk of messages that people just skipped to the end results which is demoralising after spending 30 mins on a report. In short, don't think it is worth doing it again.
Although I have an idea for a different story game it won't come to fruition for these reasons.
Thanks for taking part in the final TOTC. |

Why would you say that? It's obvious that our own riders are our main concern and thus the main talking point. It's talk about the race itself. Would you prefer "nice report" comments instead?
Last TOTC was an EPIC one though! Hopefully you will one day realize this different story game as well.

No I'm not complaining about that Shonak! Most of the comments, by the regulars, were great. I'm saying, for me, there wasn't enough in depth race talk in general which makes the whole thing worthwhile (no one can be blamed for that, this story game just doesn't create a buzz) + the concept was getting stale/ bland in my eyes and has definitely run its course. The fight for the GC, due to the cobbles having 'little' impact through bad gameplay issues, didn't help.....
Thanks. |

Hmm. Of course, this can't continue for ever.
Still a shame though, but curious what your other idea is

I tried to make at least every 2 stages one comment because I don't really have time. Anyways thanks for everything.

The Adjusted Lifetime Rankings
The Adjusted ranking simply divides the players total UC score by their number of entries. This is to give an average TOTC UC score across all the events and show who really was the best!
Kentaurus | 554 | TheManxMissile | 462 | Ollfardh | 425 | sammyt93 | 424 | Pinktay | 393 | Atlantius | 375.25 | mvhoogdalem | 370.6 | Jesleyh | 355.8 | Jakstar | 327.5 | Bikex | 315 | shonak | 302.33 | Cycleman | 293 | duxili | 284 | welker | 270 | 547984 | 255 |
Pretty clear with Kentaurus out front. He dominated TOTC1's UC ranking with Phinney and then never came back.
TMM sits in second place having dropped out after the traditional events. Domination of TOTC3 was backed up with high scores in events 1+2 showing real consistency.
Oldfart completes the podium having been in all 5 events. Domination of TOTC2 was aided by consistent high scores in other events to win the UC title.
Other noteable people were Sammyt93, the highest placed 2 Event name and Atlantius as the highest place 4 Event name. But only 4 people scored over 400 on average in each of their events with most in the 300's

335 points as average... Not bad.
@The Rider: Just take a break indeed. I missed guessing the rider after around stage 8 or something. Those things are a way to get people more active, but indeed it's annoying when people don't read your whole report. I tried to do it but I don't have always the time for it. You can also continue TOTC with only posting the results (JK). But I shouldn't say it's the last TOTC, take a break and focus on Qatar Optics.

I found that at points you were getting 2 or 3 stages out before I'd got a chance to read them and at other points it seemed like there was quite a gap between stages, and the latter tended to be the ones where we weren't doing anything.
That's not meant as a criticism as it was because I was far more busy at the start, hence missing the deadline day for bidding on riders.
But as others have said it would be great to see these make a comeback after a break.

A pitty you will stop. I acknowledge I sometimes did not read 100% of the report, mostly in case of flat stage and also i the last stages (both because I was on biz trip and because I had no more hope for GC). Still I really enjoyed the reports (both the writing and the nice/fun pictures!)
Also the problem with such a long race is that after a few stages, we all know who the favorites are and the GC ranking kicks in big time killing the suspense.
I know it would be a bigger job but playing each stage as a 1-day race might well boost the interest of the latest stages.
Also cutting the stage report and creating a challenge to find the senario could help.
To sum up I love the concept and would cry if you really decide to stop it
