Make a tour with everything, Prologue, TTT, the cobbles classics, the ardennes, San Remo and Lombardia, some mountain stages.
I would also keep the draft system, it goes way better than first come first serve. I kinda liked that better than the first version.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Maybe it would be fun if there are 21 stages & participants and we may choose one stage each after having selected our team(so there'll be enough stages for every kind of rider, since everyone will probably choose a stage that suits him best)
It could be any stage in PCM, though that might be annoying with PCm 11(since I don 't have it for example)
No guarentees the race would be balanced, but it would be fun

i like Jeshleys idea. That would be much more tactical and it is not as important to have the first pick like it was in TOTC 2 with points jersey also going to the best climber (propably)
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Yeah, it would be tactical indeed.
A climber without a good TT could choose a heavy mountain stage,
A climber without good TT but with good HI could take an easy mountain stage or tough hill(For MO/HI ratio)
A stage-racer that's an above-average COB could do a cobbled stage, to gain time on his rivals.
A stage-racer with a nice TT can do a flat or hilly TT, depending on abilities.
And that's just the stage-racers
We do have to check that there's not 1 very dominant stage-racer with good MO,HI & TT on the AVG we choose, it should be open, maybe even a Tony Martin(TT & bit of climbing)type'or Cancellara-type could make a GC Top 10, depending on stages chosen.
Fun!

For chosing the riders, I would go with an impartial method. Something like a draw.
We have 21 teams and 189 riders. We split the 189 riders in 9 parts : the best 21 riders, the second best 21 riders, the third best 21 riders and so on. And then there will be a draw (made by The Rider) and each team will receve a rider from each category.

Don't think that System is any good. That means you could end up with the best cliimber and a fantastic lead out train, but no suppprt for him in the mountainns, or a mediocre climber, and a few okay-ish domestiques as an example.

How about a system where everyone makes his own leader? Either GC or sprinter, and you have x amount of points to assign to the stats, maybe main stat (MO or SP) is the same for everyone, but selecting secondary. (choosing between TT, SP, ACC...)
The rest of the team picked through a draft system. |

I like Ians idea, but there'd have to be some sort of rule to prevent Sprinters with really high MO, or climbers with really high CO, and so on.

@Dippo Why? If a climber has 73 SP as well, that will cost him points to 'spend on his GC'.
Maybe points over 70 & 75 and 77(or lower numbers if we go with lower AVG riders) should weigh heavier then...
Waiting for The rider's opinion on the ideas

It would be more fun like that.
If not, we will have 2-3 super GC riders with nice support, 2-3 super sprinters with lead-out men and 15 teams strugling to win a stage.

I like both of your ideas but both will not work for me because:
---- With Jesleyh's idea: I doubt we could get 21 people to choose a stage, it was hard enough to get 21 people to sign to this one.
---- With Ian Butler's idea: It sounds like a great idea. But not for me as I am not willing to spend a load of time editing riders into the database.
Of course if someone likes that idea they could always do it. |

A load of time? It's possible with a minute(okay, maybe 2) per rider. 21 minutes
The draft took you waaaaay longer I guess
And @choosing a stage, the possibility to choose 'Random mountain stage', 'Random flat stage' etc. could be introduced for people who don't want to choose a stage

You can. The eneco tour has one. Or did you mean something else?

Yeah in pcm12 on a cobbled mountain the pace went to like 1mph, everyone just stopped, and it's SOOO easy to win, use like 30 effort! |
