Some great sprints by Nesveda and 3rd in points ranking and a stage win are great results for the first race. Unfortunately the team couldn't take much use of the Rabobank Dev. Team rivalry between Richeze and Slik, maybe in future races though. Nice effort by Petrus too. It was certainly a successfull visit to New Zealand for the team.
Really dig your screenshots too by the way. They look wonderful in the way you edit them.

@ sutty - Yeah. It was tough, but first race of the year in bad fitness its not too bad I agree, atleast we could take something away from the race.
@ Shonak - Thanks! I think we will keep coming back to New Zealand with those results, plus the weather
Glad you like them! I try to make them look nice, sometimes I make a bunch kinda dark sometimes too bright, but sometimes they look really good
@ baia - Me too
Sorry about that. I believe the highest place was Petrus in 54th overall so way down, which I suppose is why I felt it wasn't worth sharing. I
ll try to include them in the future, regardless of how high or low we are placed.

Great results for the season start, with a stage win and 3rd in the points ranking for Nesveda
But wow, amazing screens

@ baia - Will do
Trofeo Porec (1.2)
March 10th, 2014
We return to the race in which we kicked off the season last year! Its a good race that should suit the fast men. The hills may eliminate some sprinters but most will be able to get over those lumps! Zamparrela, Young, Giraud and Sobrino are the top sprinters here, but Velits looks like a very strong rider if he can use the hills to his advantage! Hruska and Haller get their first race days under their belt and hope its a good one! The race could really suit Haller well!
The plan for us today is to let the early breakaway clear! We will sit back and execute our plan later on!
The Plan, as mentioned earlier was for Hruska to make an attack on the final hill of the day with roughly 15km to go! He couldn't make much of a gap on the hill but there was still the descent, where he could make up some more ground!
Hruska really pulls out a gap on the descent and uses it to his advantage, so that he has lots of energy left for when the road flattens around the 1km mark!
He rounds the final corner inside the 1km banner and the there is one rider close to him, but they cant seem to close the gap quick enough!
Hruska caps off a huge solo victory and gives the team its 2nd win of the year! That was some effort by him, and might go down as one of the teams greatest ever victories. The plan was executed to perfection!

First race, first victory. Hruska sure didn't let himself go too much in winter and came back with quite good form. It's always nice when the riders just do what the DS tells them to and everything works out.

I didn't even notice Haller there. Good race indeed by our fellow austrian. Oh, and welcome to the forum, fellow austrian.

@ sutty - Thanks! It was a big win.
@ Shonak - No he didn't He's actually on very good form now for some reason even though he's only set to be on the lowest green fitness level.
@ Ian - Yeah! It reminded me of Gilbert or more recently BMC at the Vuelta.
@ Vali- Thank you! They both did well! Medek especially, since I would have expected Haller to be our best man going into the stage.

@ all - sorry for going on a month break! I had exams and those stressed me out, and then I was just really busy with my social life in December, and the start of January Uni started back up, but I think I've got a handle on things now!

Istarsko Proljece Stage 1 TT (2.2)
March 14th, 2014
Its the opening stage and its a Mountain Time Trial to boot! Hruska and Okrouhlicky are both favourites for the stage, but Choi of Bank BGZ is the big favourite and looks like a huge favourite for the entire race with his climbing and time trialing ability!
Our favourite for the day is Hruska, however he's having a bad day, apparently due to a bad warmup and will not make a top time! The winner on the day is the big favourite, Choi!

Istarsko Proljece Stage 2 (2.2)
March 15th, 2014
Today the favourite is our own man, Hruska! Its gonna be hard to beat the in form Choi, but these two are probably the ones that are going to fight for the overall, and anytime the team has a rider with this opportunity, we know we can be happy!
The first action of the day is a three man breakaway which would not get very far on the day! They would however collect a majority of the points and KOM sprints but as you will see later on, none of the breakaway riders would lead in the KOM or Points after the stage was finished.
The first significant action of the day is Marco Haller making a brave move on the 2nd last hill of the stage, with over 30km to the finish! He created a small gap without even trying and the manager told him to go with it!
Unfortunately Choi and Ochoa his team-mate were able to bridge the gap to Haller and the 3 went ahead alone, almost 2 minutes ahead of the peloton! This meant trouble for the rest of our riders as Choi was likely to extend his overall lead!
Choi and Ochoa, along with Pauwels are now the 3 leaders with Haller down in the 2nd group! As we got onto the final climb, Choi was now alone ahead of the race and the peloton, slowly caught up to the rest of the lone riders on the climb!
Hruska made an attack and was now 2nd on the road but almost 2 minutes down on Choi and not looking like he'd lower the gap much either!
Choi takes the stage and Hruska finishes in 2nd place moving himself up to 2nd overall as well! We would have liked to get the gap below what it was, but 2nd overall will still be a good result if it finishes like this!

Great to see this back, one of my favourites
The Istrian Spring Trophy is always a nice race for me, and this variant in particular is very good. Some good racing here so far, with Hruska keeping up his good start to life on the team.
Great start to the season in general, which is always good for the team's promotion chances. Long may it continue. |

Thanks a lot!
Yeah he has been great for us, but of course his stats are very good for a CT rider in the db. He will certainly be drawing the attention of some of the big teams

Istarsko Proljece Stage 3 (2.2)
March 16th, 2014
The penultimate stage of the tour as the final stage is a flat day for the sprinters! If we want to grab the overall we will have to make things happen today! Choi has looked really strong but to be honest he only really gained time because of a misjudgement of tactics from our part.
Kopecky gets into the days breakaway on a day where they may actually have a shot at staying away! Goncalves is the only other rider of considerable strength in the group!
The time has come for the break to settle it out between themselves with 30km to go and still a 4 minute gap to the peloton! Kopecky gives the rest a run for their money with an attack on the 2nd last hill of the day! However Goncalves actually gets ahead of Kopecky on the road after a bit of a tough stretch but both join up again with 5km to go!
Meanwhile, Hruska senses a lull in the pelotons speed and makes an attack and gets a massive gap back to the peloton and Choi of almost 2 minutes with 10km to the line for him! Of course he has almost a 2min gap to Choi in the overall but anything can happen tomorrow if the gap today remains the same!
Back up with the leaders now and Kopecky charges for the line and starts to create a gap! By the time he hits 300m to the line he knows he's won it!
But just for confirmation, here he is crossing the line in first place! A great win for us, even though it may be difficult to take the overall, although that is still up for grabs....
Hruska crosses the line! Its time to start the stop watches to see who will be the new leader of the race! 1min............1:30......
And there they come! A handful of riders cross the line minimizing the time gap to Hruska! The clock stops some minute and 40 seconds later meaning Choi still has the lead! The new gap is 25 seconds! That can be taken with just intermediate sprints with time bonuses, so the race is definitely not safe for Choi!

Nice to see you back with this! Guess we all understand why you had to take a break
And what a way to come back: kicking the reports off with a great screen(the TT), getting yourself a great GC-position and taking a stage-win with another set of nice screens! Welcome back
