hey guys... quick question: should i install the variants pack or not? i really like the fcd database, it's working fine and i've made some adjustments by myself - so i put quite a bit of work in it as well. now, i just don't want the same installation error as reported above. what's your advice? does this error happen just in one case out of 1000 or more often? |

Yes, install the variants.
Otherwise you'll have the same race routes every year, which is pretty lame.
I didn't have an error, and I don't think there's a risk, if you have an error, you can probably still play PCM, but just without the variants 
At least I think so, but your choice...

other question: do i have to install it in my PCM Season 2013 folder or do i have to create a new folder in that PCM folder?

No, just the Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2013 folder(if yours is called like that)
But watch out, the installer automatically installs it in Saison 2013 or makes a map automatically. You have to change that manually.

thx... so i have to watch out that it doesn't create a new map, then. now, i just have to wait for it to be evening.

another question, sorry for bothering you: if i install the variants pack, it does not overwrite or change my local.cdb - because i changed all the cya to uci by myself etc. and i don't want this to be changed again just because of the variants pack?? |

No, it does not.
Variants are just stages. They won't overwrite anything, they are just extra stages, to make the race route for almost every WT race different each year

yeah, i knew that about the new stages, but just wasn't sure about a possible change in the local.cdb or career.cdb!

sorry, me again (hopefully, for the last time): it doesn't matter if i have already started my career (i'm at the end of february/beginning of march), right?? so, installing the variants pack in the middle of a career shouldn't be a problem?

That's the same error guys. Just 1.
A tutorial to fix it is located in this topic, can't link it right know.
It's that there's no FKID_laststage selected for that Course Solidarc race 
Just insert the right one in FkID_laststage in Dyn_race and insert the right stage name in gene_sz_selected_variant or so in Dyn_Stage.

this problem i can solve in lachi editor.too easy to spot button races in lachi editor
i pressed button races,then i pressed to show me in alphabetical order because letter C isn't too far.found race and didn't had nothing at fkid last stage,i put that 5494 t1 solidarno
bigger problem it's the game crashes a lot with this patch at loading,in menu(career mode)
i like to play and online.i don't want crashes

Nah, you have to give the race number 6494.
But you have to edit Dyn_Stage first and edit gene_sz_selected_variant, otherwise you can't select 6494 in Dyn_Race.
I haven't experienced an other crash than this one, at least not after the update

i don't have variants downloaded,still testing this french community db
i see now.no name stage.was first stage on top
i didn't payed attention that i had previous 24-28 date and had 6 stages

I know, it doesn't have anything to do with variants.
Just the table gene_sz_variant_selected or something like that, in Dyn_race.
You should be able to select 6494 t1_solidarnosc_06_2012.
You can only do that if you add the line t1_solidarnosc_06_2012 in Dyn_stage -> gene_sz_variant, at the line with the ID 6494.
