ah well, I just thought of a new favorite goal. Ivory Coast beats France, then one of the Ivory Coast players turns the flag upside down to make it look like the Irish flag. and parades it in front of Henry's face.
did that actually happen or is it just a rather clever dream?

I am betting all my money on Ivory coast to win the world Cup because they are obviously the best.
You've obviously lost your money then. If Portugal performs well, Ivory Coast is out in the group stage. You haven't seen the match they played two days ago vs Algeria, have you?

Søren Larsen, who's barely played any matches for the last year or so and currently playing in the 2. Bundesliga club Duisburg, has been picked. Mads Junker, on the other hand, scored ~20 goals in the best Dutch league for Roda.
When asked about it, our head coach looked at the journalist: "Was he between the 30 players that I mentioned?" - "No..." - and then silence until the press guy says that only questions regarding the selected players would be answered.

he probably forgot to pick him and doesn't want to admit his mistake
It also keeps with the tradition that the Portuguese team follows in every single major tournament ever: one guy who played every game in qualifying and started most of them is arbitrarily not selected

sorry, just learned that my source wasn't too reliable. official squad will be named at 4 GMT.
however, i do know that Walcott, Baines, Bent and Johnson are all out. leaving 3 cuts left with the most likely candidates being Huddlestone, Parker, Dawson and Upson.
So my squad above could well be correct except for maybe Upson and Dawson swapping around.
Any other big supprises in other countries?
