Own goal by Blackpool. That goal can possibly send Blackpool in the Championship. |

And Owen again. Blackpool is going down. It's between Birmighan and Wolves now.

It's incredible how Roberto Martinez keeps Wigan in the Premier League, after being nearly all championships in last. |

6 month suspension to Kolo Toure for using some sort of weight loss drug.
How can he get away with just 6 months? Same with Ferdinand a couple of years ago (9 months).
I mean -- yes, FIFA, or whoever decides the ban in football, may be too "weak" when it comes to doping, but why doesn't WADA appeal to CAS?
It's a very clear breach of the anti doping rules. 2-year-ban, please. |

football doesnt have drug problems, especially not in the early to mid 90's ...football is clean. Its a team sport, drugs have no effect. This is why their can be different rules for the athletes. Unlike in sports such as cycling with junkies because thats the sport all bad persons on earth do.
In football you earn so much money you dont need to help your body to get better, because when much money is involved people would never cheat to get an advantage.
And when a footballer is caught thats just a misunderstanding because most of the time the stupid doctor forgot to declare the medicaments he gave to the athlete.
For Tennis the same, most of the time its just 6-9 month ban. |

Also to add that his ban began on 3rd March so that means almost 3 months of the ban are gone by now. |

The EPL kicked off today with Luis Susrez showing his worth for Liverpool even though they drew. I'm excited to see ManU and Chelsea start there season tomorrow.

Too bad Liverpool couldnĀ“t make more out of the first half, Suarez missing a penalty Downing shot in the bar.
Adams showing his good free kicks at the goal.
But with that bad second half a draw was not so unfair.

I officialy hate Barton with all my might, the reason I very much dislike Newcastle.
Draw away with Fulham is a good result fo Villa too, Given was superb. Just N'Zogbia has to get more match fitness and the attack should play better.

I'm happy to see that Krul is Newcastle's first choice in the first match.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal draw in their first match. They will never become champion if they keep screwing up like that. |

Barton is a complete muppet granted, to me though he is just another overinflated ego football player who uses twitter - countless others like him including Wayne Rooney.
Newcastle vs Arsenal was a game with two very dirty teams. There is a reason why so many Arsenal/Newcastle players get booked and sent off.
The referee was in a muddle by the end, he knew he had missed the Song stamping incident and I think that the Barton I am such a victim thing meant he got just a booking when he should have got sent off. Also perhaps he felt (wrongly) that the Arsenal player had dived.
Liverpool threw away two points though, home to Sunderland? You have got to winning and scoring more than two goals in that one (granted Carrolls goal should not have been disallowed).

Never liked Barton as a player, never liked Barton as a person. Seriously, I don't know what is wrong with him...
Anyway, looking forward to see Chelsea today. Andre Villas Boas gave good signs in the pre-season, now I wonder how it will be in official matches.
@Alakagom - since you're a Villa supporter, can you tell me what you think about Stephen Ireland? He's been changing club too often. |

Hard to say, he didn't play at all last season, had fallen out with Houlier, depends how will his 'relationship' with McLeish go, Villa needs a player like him that can deliver the goods to Bent ( when he was totally on his own yesterday ) but he needs to be given more opportunities.

So, Chelsea draw 0-0 with Stoke. I watched the final 10 minutes of the match, and I think Chelsea didn't play well. Some don't know what to do with the ball, and when they try to advance with it, they don't have support from another player, leading to some bad passes or losing the ball. Still some work to do. And I think Torres should have stayed in Liverpool. |

That's what you get, when you only watch 10 minutes of the game. Before that, there were three situations, where referee could have given a penalty on Stokes goal. Only players, who didn't impressed me from starting 11 probably were wingers Malouda and Kalou. So don't make silly statements based only on last 10 minutes. |
