All I can say is, remember that Petacchi didn't ride the Giro. Perhaps that can give him just a bit more power than last year.

This is 50-50 chanche..will he survive that final week. Problem is..that he's final descent race was at march
Best Taaramäe is when he can climb with own speed (Alpe d'Huez last year..he had bad day..was droped early...came back ..and then climbed he's career best climb)..and when he is top form..this will be world class speed. Only then he can beat van Garderen
Van Garderen's climbing is very overrated if you ask me. And also, he seems to overestimate himself sometimes.
Mount Baldy for example. He tried to stay with Gesink for too long, cracked and got passed by several riders to finish almost a minute and a half down.
Also, Suisse last year. He was clearly in great shape, judging by his prologue and first few stages. Then he struggled as soon as they hit the mountains and ended up outside the Top 10 overall, after a terrible last time trial. His recovery needs to improve too before I'll see him as a contender in the GTs.
And completely agree. Its like his Mountain stat just shot up, after that break in the Tour where he got the polka dots. I think we need to remember who won the Polka dots in 2010...
What are you talking about ?
Van Garderen didn't do Tour in 2010. Although he came into first big notice as he did very well in Dauhpine 2010. Still his best WT result to date.

I was talking about 2011 for TVG. But Charteau won polka dots in 2010.
And my point is that you dont have to be an amazing climber to pick up a few KoM points on a certain stage.

Makes sense now, nonetheless his mountain proneness shoot up at 2010 Dauhpine and from then he was bigged up. I don't even remember him at KoM. That rankings doesn't really matter that much anyway to see who's good climber and who's not.
Still overrated very much so.

RNT shoes.
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring.

Vacansoleil's start order on Saturday's prologue:

(from their twitter)
Looks like they are definitely putting their money on Westra. By putting him at the end of the list, it shows that he's been given more of a GC role, unlike Larsson who is starting halfway and is probably just competing for stage results in TT's. |

They have a shot at winning the prologue, if you'd ask me. It'll be hard but it's not quite impossible! |

Both Westra and Larsson need a miracle to get a podium, i can´t see one of them winning.

Hmm I don't know. In cycling, every race has to be ridden. I admit the chances are slim, but I see them surprising. |

Maybe you're right. We'll see, but I gotta say, my money is on Cancellara |

I think Martin will dominate the TT's but I would love to see his ass kicked by Spartacus that's for damn sure! |

I give Larsson a fair shot. He won the Paris-Nice prologue so on good form maybe he'll surprise and land somewhere in the top 3. |

I don't know if this has already been posted but:
Fränk Schleck says he won't be at top form for the Tour:
https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/frank...-de-france
Klöden for GC then? |
