Gate/An Post-Chainreaction, Fedi/Ceramica Flaminia, Baliani/Team Nippo, Batty/Bear Development, Hunt/AirGas and Rigaux/Team 3M are the leading group on the road at the moment

Another group containing nine riders are trying to make it across the gap from the peleton

Bad news for us as Dombrowski/Team Novo Nordisk has had a puncture and is now way off the pace

Meanwhile at the front the rest of Team Novo Nordisk have come to the head of the peleton to start upping the pace as the gap to the lead group goes over ten minutes

Both lead groups have now lapped the peleton and are making there way through to the front again

Team Novo Nordisk are doing the chasing themselves as no other team is willing to help out

The two front groups have merged meaning we have fifteen riders in the lead

The chase has reduced the gap to 6m 20s

With a lead of 5m 31s it looks like the winner will come from this group

Hunt/AirGas is the first rider to try an attack

He's hauled back with five kilometres to go

And the sprint is off but who is going to be victorious

Have to say i feel a bit deflated after today, i cannot understand why no other team were willing to help us in the chase, which left the front group to fight it out for the race win.
Still i suppose that is bike racing

Reijnen/Team Novo Nordisk, Rovny/Ceramica Flaminia, Ribeiro/Efapel Glassdrive and Castaneda/EPM-UNE look like they have become the break of the day

The lead is 5m 17s

La Pomme Marseille and Christina Watches are leading the chase from behind

Brown/Bontrager is chasing them down alone after escaping from the pack

Ribeiro and Rovny are the only two left after the others couldn't handle the pace

A group of thirty nine riders have established themselves at the front

Peeters/Colba Superhano and seized an opportunity to go clear on his own

In to the last kilometre he goes

And he enjoys a great solo victory

I have to be happy with third and fourth for Jack and Peter, although i would have liked the win.
Still we went away with the team prize so that goes someway to compensate.

I could never have dreamed of getting any of the first two medals, i am totally made up with the result and yes the drinks are definately on me this evening

This first break went away at the beginning of the race and hasn't looked back since. In it are Zaugg/SWI, Jungels/LUX, Laengen/NOR and Boivin/CAN

The quartet are working together really well

Th United States and Spain are now gathering near the front of the peleton

A minute has been lost off there advantage

Boivin is spending a lot of time on the front

Colombia are enjoying themselves when the road goes up

The foursome must be feeling the pain now having been out in front for so long

P.Velits is putting the hammer down at the front of the peleton

Riders are now beginning to drop off the back due to the pace

Zaugg and Jungels are the last two to be caught by the pack, what a great effort they made

Sagan/SLO hits the front closely followed by Henao/COL, Lofkvist/SWE and Van Garderen/USA

None of the other Countries are wiling to help Sagan so he sits up

He starts his sprint for the line with only Boasson Hagen/NOR for company

The Norweigan has the edge

And Sagan can only watch as he becomes the new World Champion

Really thought that we were going to get a medal with Tejay Van Garderen but he had to settle for sixth place.
Our other finishers were Joseph Dombrowski in 15th, Alexander Efimkin in 18th , Lawson Craddock i n 55th, Sondre Holst Enger in 74th and Vegard Stake Laengen in 86th.

Topsport Vlaanderen and AG2R La Mondiale are doing most of the chasing

The leading quartet have a chance to get there breath back on one of the mant downhill sections

Elmiger/IAM Cycling is trying to make it across to the leaders

The peleton get back on terms just as Elmiger launches another attack

Hansen/ Lotto Belisol tries to go solo

His bid was unsuccessful but now his team mate Bak has a go

He only has 10s lead at the flame rouge

And they were just not enough as Vanspeybrouck/Topsport Vlaanderen takes the win

Well we had a plan today to put Calabria in the break and hope that it would last until the end but unfortunately it wasn't to be
