I think its more that Nibali couldnt sprint, rather than Nibali didnt sprint. If they had an agreement - what was in it for Nibali to gain? |

I'm with SN on this one. I don't think Nibali had it in the legs.

If Nibali had stopped riding, he'd have lost time for GC, and Schleck still would have had the jump on him. Best thing was just to keep riding, gain time and get a 2nd place. I'd hazard a guess that both riders were pretty tired, but Schleck got to sit on for a bit pre finish line. Makes a big difference.

I don't get Nibali. Why would anybody ride for 6th place in the GC (because that is what he won) of the Tour of California :?
If it was the Tour, Giro, or Vuelta, then maybe that was defendable. But in races like California, Paris Nice, Tirreno etc it makes no sense to me to ride for a far honour place in the GC, when you are in a 2 man breakaway with someone who doesn't have much of a sprint.
I think Nibali should have forgotten about the GC when they were within a minute and chasing. Rather nothing then 2nd in the stage and only 6th in gc. (once again, who cares?) |

Nibali isn't a sprinty-tipe, he probably was too tired to sprint. |

Did anyone notice today, that the Rock Racing riders have different brand helmets within the team? I saw a Las helmet and a Catlike helmet. And during the TT, Hamilton had a Louis Garneau helmet. Not only are their jerseys changing, their equipment is too. |
