Are you gonna drive the next stage today?
Yeah
Karl, about the bikes. I like the combos(statswise) i can get with CRC bikes and Lightweight best. I can get close to 50 for both flat and Mountain with mid 30's in the secondary stats. Or 42-43 on both for hilly stages. |

Criterium du Dauphine Libere - Stage 4
Stage 4 of the Dauphine is a 31km ITT. With a lead of 30 seconds over Evans, it's a bit on the long side for us to keep the yellow jersey. But that's okay, that means it wont be up to us to work when we come back in stage 5.
Dave Zabriskie will be one of the riders on the podium today without a doubt. He's hanging on in the GC, but i suspect that will end in 2 days when we hit the first mountains.
Sastre is probably the best and most consistent climber amongst the top riders there days. Which is good because he rides a mediocre timetrial.
Here is Evans, he will take time on us today. Question is, how much?
Contador holds the ebst provisional time at this point.
Evans sets the best time at the first check, Zabriskie has set the 2nd fastest, beating contador by 3 seconds. Sanchez is on his way up.
Samuel Sanchez takes 8th spot on the 1st timecheck. We're happy with that, but losing 21 seconds in the first 3rd of the stage could spell trouble!
At the second timecheck leads Sanchez by 50 seconds! That puts him in the yellow jersey! Sanchez has dropped to the 14th spot!
And Evans wins the stage! He rides in the exact same time as swedish prodigy thomas Lövkvist. Great ride by the young Columbia rider.
Sanchez crosses the line in 14th as he did on the 2nd timecheck. A lot of specialists here today, but we can live with a loos of 1 minute. That keeps us within 30 seconds of Cadel Evans in the GC.

Oh I thought you might lose 45 secs but one minute is hard. You can get it back in the mountains, and now it surely is the end of Zabriskie being up there. |

Criterium du Dauphine Libere - Stage 5
Stage 5 is a a more or less flat stage with a brutal hill 20km before the finish.
This think is practically vertical. Maybe Sanchez can get up to his old tricks here. If he gets the chance, and he can sit with Evans to the top. We'll definately try something.
88km. Everything is nice and quiet in the pack. A breakaway of 13 are in front by 8 minutes. But looking at that hill.. i doubt it'll hold.
The hill is still 15km away. But Sanchez can see it from his spot in the peleton. He gives it a glance and tells me on the radio that i need to be quiet for the rest of the stage and let him do his thing.
Here we are at the foot of the climb. Pace is starting to go up and the puncheurs are fighting for positions at the front. 11km to the top.
We're about halfway up when the action starts, Leipheimer attacks, Kreuziger, Kirchen.. Sanchez waits for a reaction from Evans at this point.
Sastre and Contador attacks now.. Evans twitches in his saddle and starts to come forward, Sanchez follows Moreau! 4.5 to the top!
2.3 from the top and Evans and Sanchez are sitting in the back of the favorites group. Sanchez is looking so strong today!
We're at the top. Moreau attacks but we'll get that back on the downhill. We can't be careless, and we have to time it right 'cause Evans is also a good on the descend. And there is a good piece of flat on the way to the line.
Joly crashes on the downhill and slides 15m down the road(seriously, he actualy slid down the mountain!) nearly taking most of the favorites with him.
9,5km to go.. and we're behind Pfannberger and Evans. This is the moment!
Sanchez flew down that mountainside! The others watch in disbelief as he distances them by nearly 30 seconds in a matter of minutes! 3.5 to the line for Sanchez, can he hold on?!
He can! Leipheimer and Moreau sprint with all theyve got to cover as much ground as possible.
Sanchez takes his second win of the Dauphine Libere this year. He gets a small gap too! With added bonusseconds this will put him really close to Cadel Evans and the Leaders Jersey.
