Well, Kristoff probably has the best STA in the peloton, and 79(Degen) is still very good anyway. But I will look into that, Degenkolb might end up on 80 in the next update.

Agree at 100% on this point they provide good db with the most accurate so far |

I totally agree with Paul, even though it's still great to challenge the stats and change a few. But yer I love Jesley's stats.
This is what I first went with Kristoff and Degenkolb about a week ago:
Kristoff Cobble 80 Flat 79 Hill 74 Sprint 81 Acc 78 Stamina 81
Degenkolb Cobble 80 Flat 79 Hill 73 Sprint 80 Acc 80 Stamina 80
Now:
Kristoff Cobble 80 Flat 79 Hill 74 Sprint 81 Acc 78 Stamina 80
Degenkolb Cobble 81 Flat 79 Hill 73 Sprint 80 Acc 80 Stamina 79
I dropped the stamina of each by a point to eliminate some of their advantage over the other cobbled men and also surprisingly to largely to keep in line with some of the best Ardennes men like Gilbert and Gerrans who I have at 79 stamina (even though we'll see if Gerrans warrants that this year)

Degenkolb with 81 flat makes him the best with cancellara |

Although(maybe I'm biased) Tony should be equal with Cance in this case. He has the best engine in the Peloton, imo.

Well I have him 83TT whereas Cancellara is 80 in TT. |

Aru has always been 79 in MO since the V1.5 update but it's only for valverde there's one point off. it's still possible for valverde to get good results with 79 and he isn't the same climber anymore. This guy is a terrific puncher with 82 though. |

yes exactly he has the best engine and he works much more on the flat for his teammates than Cancellara |

I have no problem putting Martin to 81 flat. I have Aru at 80 as he is a potential Giro winner and expect him to finish on the podium in this Giro. Valverde I still have at 80 mountain which still keeps him good enough to finish 3rd/4th in most tours, which is a level he's still at I believe.

I won the last Tour de France i rode on Jesleyh's db, I won it with Contador while Valverde came in second (he was 80 in mountains i remember), but the weird thing is that Kwiatkowski who had 76-77 in mountains was third until the last TT on stage 20, Froome beat him with a couple of seconds and took the last podium. My point is that Valverde could still finish on the podium in tours with 79 but you are right, he really deserves 80. He has proven more in the mountains than Richie Porte in my opinion. |

Yes this kind of thing does happen and I think a lot of that is to do with the form of the rider before he comes into the race and his daily form, something we can't see of course as we can only see from our own team.
Personally I wouldn't consider any rider under 80 to be a real GT contender unless the field is quite weak. For example if we talk about the up coming Giro and the race favourites.
Contador depending on the db will be mostly on 83 and the other riders will be around 3-4 points lower on 80/79. Which puts Contador as the hot favourite and he also has good TT as well. Contador this season hasn't looked as good as last year so the Giro will reveal how good he is. Whereas Porte is looking as good as he was two years ago and if he rides a mountain like he can he might even be 81 but as we all know he's not a great leader and is prone to having some very bad days. Aru is a real contender and needs to be 80 for that reason, his TT is not great so he needs all the help he can get in the mountain stat. Uran I have as 79 but at least he has a good TT stat to help him out and just to make the Giro interesting I have Pozzovivo at 79 as again he is solely focused on this race and he is a natural climber.

About Valv:
Alak and I easily agreed about him being put on 79.
He really wasn't great in Le Tour, nor was he great in other, later, mountainous races, like his performance at the Green Mountain(arguable though because form) and La Molina, which is the only Catalunya stage that could be rated mountainous(although HI will even weigh).
He was alright in the Vuelta though.
With Valverde, it's important to understand that his HI value favours him a lot. Sure, his HI stat won't help him at Mont Ventoux, but at nearly every other mountain stage, he will be helped with his HI stat.
I'd say the La Molina stage would be 70% MO, 30% HI, by the way, but that's a rough guess, could even be a bit less MO.
Plus, don't forget that Valv has extraordinary backup stats for a 79MO climber.
Valverde will most probably feel like a 80MO in game.
Regarding Porte,
His early season form was fantastic and therefore 80 was justified, or at least that's what we thought. Porte will, if everything goes properly, not do very well at GTs, because of his REC stat which is very bad for a climber of his level.
Aru will most likely develop like a rocket in career mode and might be 80 by the time of the Giro. I want to see more of him before he recieved 80 in the DB, though.
Pozzo(and to a lesser extent Mollema) have been considered for 79MO because of their early seasons. For now they're on 78, but we did touch their backup stats a little bit.

I agree completely at what you said Jesley and also if you look carefully at Richie porte even if he's a 80 mountain his baqckup stats are so low that it would be hard to win the giro. 72 REC is lower than most riders that are not even world class. But I don't understand why Aru is 73 in TT because in my opinion he's lower than that and I don't think he's that good. |

Aru was 16th and 21th in last year's long GT TTs.
Those weren't pancake flat, but definitely not too hilly either, TT stat would be important in both of the TTs.
