A race have a global hill/mountain ratio, and every climb in the race use this ratio. If it is 100% hill race, you can have a 10km climb and it will use only the hill stat.
Same for the cobble, on non-cobble portion of Paris-Roubaix, the game will use like 50% flat 50% cobble stats.
Very, very interesting. How can you know this?

The mountain/hill ratio was really easy to test when it was stored in the DB. It's now stored in the file of the stage, but the mechanism is still the same. |

Oh, like that.
Yeah, but the race MO/HI ratio is decided on how tough the stage is, so it still does something, I suppose. Misunderstood you there, I guess.
Didn't know about the COB thing, though

@Jesleyh
Yes, you can choose it depending on the stage, but the problem is that there is many stage/race, where you could have a long climb, and for example a final with smaller climbs. It sould be a strategic descision to try to make the race difficult in the long climb to eliminate pure puncheur if you have a good climber/puncheur.
But currently, it makes no differences ...
And there is plenty of strategic aspects like this that, instead of being highlighted, are just non-existent !

The hill mountain thing is true, but I'm not sure about that cobble thing. I'll run tests, but it sounds fishy to me. |

@Jackstar22: How about interface stuff like maps and icons?
Im not sure exactly what you mean. Could you elaborate a little please. Its late and Im a bit confused. haha. What do you mean by icons? Which icons and stuff do you mean?
It could be like a newspaper icon for the main screen where you click and navigate to the newspaper page. Maps of europe where you can select training camps stuff like that.
Yeh. I guess I could give that a go I can do the icons but I'm not really sure about the maps..

I'd like to submt an idea for a nice map for scouting areas.
I think it'd be nice to see a sort of 3D map for it. Well just an idea, sort of like this (or Europe in this case):

That would be too complicated and not so necessary, Ian (just my opinion, tho)...

It would look cool though Admir. Another thing that would set Cycling Manager Evolved over PCM

So would flaming zombies but that doesn't mean it's necessarily a good idea

Too complicated? It's basically the same as on PCM but a different "picture". Just pinpoint the scouting locations on that map and you're done. But that would make it easier to see on sight where you can scout climbers and where not. |

Sorry, but I have to agree with Admir - not necessary. Besides, no matter what the map, you know you're going to find barely any Belgian climbers.

Not for people who don't know much about Cycling. For example when I got PCM11 I didn't know anything about Cycling.

@Jackstar:
I will let you both know when i have a specific graphical task that requires some assistance, for now i should have what i need
I like the idea about 3D maps and will take it into consideration, might require more graphical work than it is worth. Otherwise some sort of elevation indication on the 2D maps should definitely be possible will see what we can come up with.

I will end this week with some good and bad news. I could have spared you from internal news like this but i prefer to be honest and open about whats going on behind the scenes
Bad News;
Co-Founder, programmer and fellow student known as Macromonium on these forums withdraw from the project last week. Being a strong programmer his role was to co-develop and evolve the engine that I personally created for the project. Creating a game like this while finishing studies requires a ton of faith and personel investment to work. Even with that kind of investment there are zero guarantee that this project will succeed or even receive funding on kickstarter. Macromonium lacked the high motivation needed for the project and thus made his departure. As a personal friend of mine i wish him the best of luck on whatever he decides to do next.
Good News:
- User bwiggins has assisted me with some 2D graphics lately that i hope he will show off to the public rather soon, i want to thank him a lot for his assistance.
- User NTTHRASH will use his past experience as a developer at EA and Need for Speed to assist and co-develop the game with me. I am sure he will present himself shortly. Welcome onboard to NTTHRASH!
Even without Macromonium everyone else behind Cycling Manager Evolved remain fully commited to the project and we will continue to work day and night to bring you the Cycling experience that you deserve

Hello everyone! I am now a member of the programming team, and I'm I'll soon be up to speed with this new engine. For those of you wondering, it has my approval 100%, and I can firmly say that you shan't worry about PCM's unreliability anymore.
