I understand him. Cobbled races are really a LOT easier than in previous PCM versions
I managed to do a 1-2-3 with Vacansoleil in Kuurne for example. And managed to dominate with Flecha and Leukemans in basically all cobbled classics except RVV and PR (which are the only real hard ones to win). But I was still 2nd and 3rd in RVV and 2nd and 5th in PR..
Even with AG2R I managed to top 5 in RVV with fucking Chainel (!)

I struggle with hills and sprints, but mt stages and cobbles are too easy on normal.
So I basically switch between normal and hard depending on the stage |

I started a new career with Omega Pharma, and I just completed the first stage of the Santos Tour Down Under. I decided to bring Cavendish, figuring that he could compete for victories with Greipel - no such luck, no other sprinter came to the event.
In my head, I decided to turn Sylvain Chavanel into a bad guy that does not want to work for Cavendish. He thinks he's a bully or something like that. However, everyone else is fine with Cavendish, including Boonen.
At the final sprint point before the finish, I had Chavanel launch an all-or-nothing attack while I was in the midst of organizing Cavendish's sprint train. The peloton (and my sprint train) immediately began the chase.
As we came up to the final ascent up a non-categorized climb, Chavanel had a lead of roughly 30 seconds. He's a decent climber, so he was able to pick up fifteen seconds by the time he began the descent. He attacked the entire down hill section, and then switched to free effort at 85 intensity as soon as the gradient smoothed out. At this point, Chavanel had a 50 second advantage over his teammate. Had he worked too hard? Would he have enough energy to keep away from a hungry and angered Cavendish?
The Minx Missile's sprint train was chasing hard, along with team BMC. On the descent, they were giving it their all. Niki Terpstra had limited their loss up the climb and down the descent, but he hit the wall as soon as the gradient smoothed out. It would be up to Matteo Trentin to drag Tom Boonen and Mark Cavendish to their traitorous teammate. Giving all he could for his leader, Trentin managed to narrow the gap between the breakaway and the peloton to fifteen seconds, and it was nearly time to begin the final sprint!
Chavanel's heart was soaring up over 180 beats as he heard the roar of the crowd behind him. He glanced behind his shoulder, and he saw Matteo Trentin dragging the peloton ever closer. "I cannot outsprint Cavendish," thought Chavanel to himself as he took a chug of his energy gel. He began to pedal faster; he had to after all, if he wanted to win and deny Cavendish a victory. He could feel and hear the pounding of his heart. The next two kilometers would determine whether his effort was in vain!
Boonen launched out of his saddle, pedaling at an insane tempo. He had lead out Cavendish to two successful intermediate sprints already today, and he did not wish to deny his leader a victory in the inaugural stage of the 2013 edition of the Santos Tour Down Under. His DS was screaming into his ear, announcing pleasurably that the gap between the peloton and the breakaway was melting away! Boonen had done his job; Cavendish was at the front, ready to begin his final sprint...
"Ten seconds," screamed the DS into Cavendish's ear. Chavanel was fading quickly. He could easily make that up, couldn't he? He leaped out of his saddle like a puma, and began to ferociously peddle away from the peloton. Nobody could match the Minx Missile on the flat! He is the fastest man on a bike, after all!
"Eight seconds!"
The gap was melting away. The finish was line in reach, both for Chavanel and Cavendish.
The seconds that lapsed seemed like an eternity for the Omega-Phama Quickstep riders. Chavanel knew that Cavendish was coming in quick, but Chavanel also knew that he was less than fifty meters away from the finish line. He was going to win! He knew it! The leader's jersey would be his!
...
Chavanel lunged for the line, coming in first. As he crossed the line, he threw his hands into the air and gasped for air. He had won the battle, but it was time to see if he had won the war. He needed to beat Cavendish by at least SEVEN seconds to claim the leader's jersey, and Cavendish was only trailing by eight seconds according to the DS.
The clock began to beat, counting down the seconds that had passed since the race winner crossed the finish.
Five seconds had passed. Cavendish was nearing the line, but he was fading. Had he launched his sprint too early?
Six seconds. Cavendish was fading ever quicker, still not crossing the finish line.
Seven seconds.
Eight Seconds. The crowd erupted as the Minx Missile crossed the finish, eight seconds behind Chavanel and a second slower than Cavendish needed to wear the first leader's jersey. The jersey was Chavanel's. But, now the question becomes - will the French man be able to keep it? |

I have thought about it, but I want to wait until the PCMDaily database is released if I do write one. |

Right, my new career. Intending to go long-term.
LKT Team Brandenburg.
I signed Meisen & Possoni to get a bit more balanced team. There was no decent German free-agent climber(yeah, Gerdemann, but that's overpowered), so had to sign a Italian. He will disappear from the team after 2 years, when his contract runs out, unless my team is good enough to take other nationalities by then...
I'm playing with a(heavily edited) French Community DB, which has a little bit higher stat matrix for CT teams.
Actually, this is still among the weakest 30% of the CT teams, so it won't be easy. I've got a lot of talent with Meisen, Willwohl & Deckert though.
Team is relatively strong on sprinting, and since I want to get the most out of playing the new races, I really had to sign a climber.
Team is really strong on TTing as well, and I have some TTTs scheduled so that's good. LKT in real-life, even though very weak, always seem to do well in TTTs as well
Goals for first season:
- Win 3 races(stages or jersey)
- Finish around the middle of CT rankings(90th or something on CQ)
- Sign some strong riders, neo-pro's are fine as well.
(I already had a sneek-peak on the neo-pro's at the career starting screen, when clicking custom team, and they look good )
Long-term goal:
Get Germany a new WT team

started a career with Bariani, using Jesleyh's DB on Hard.
First race was in the Tour San Luis, and was fortunate no real big names attended, and capitalized with Pirazzi taking a solid 7th spot, just 2 secs behind 5th! Battaglin also secured the Climbers Jersey over eventual winner Pelizzoti.
The Etoile De Basseges and Tour De Mediterranean saw a couple of podium finishes, but we could not grab a stage win... very strong fields in those 2 races saw us well outside top 40 in both events.
We sent a weak squad to the Volta Algarve which was won comfortably by Brad Wiggins, more just to get some race days into some riders, than any expected result.
Then finally the first race on Italian soil : Giro De Laigueglia! We sent a strong team here hoping for a good podium finish. Our train led out Colbrelli beautifully and were well positioned heading to the finish.. Marcato and Paulini sprinted past and i thought another podium was on the cards.. However Colbrelli found another gear and blew straight past like they were standing still for our first victory! Suprising victory, and the first win with a new team is always special
With 2 sponsor goals coming up, in Strade Bianche and Roma Maxima Classic, we will be pushing for top 10 in those 2 to keep sponsors happy! |

I will, this is actually the first time for PCM 13 that I really aim for a long-term career.
Others were to kill time to wait for a proper DB
Oh, and I completed a season with PCM 13 already

btw what does annoy me about career is the wildcards. Seriously. I did very well with Colombia/Coldeportes in the first months. Applied for all wildcards in stage races especially (and hilly classics). Get none.
Who gets invited to the Giro? Accent jobs wanty.. I mean seriously. WTF? I did much better then them and they don't have a giro ready team to begin with
WTF |

Wildcard sistem is stupid. On most race's it's given to teams from that nationality and then it's given to random a team. |

That's where an editor comes handy...
You would believe that at least one thing works correctly in this game but I have yet to find it. |

That sounds like a familiar idea Jesleyh Good luck! Btw, are the stats of Meisen and the others of the team the real ones given by PCM France or are some of them changed by you? |

Yeah, have been planning to do a career with a small German team, either custom or real, for a while
Not sure about Meisen, but most of the guys are edited by me, yeah.
Couldn't stand all the 60s those guys had, and some guys were really underrated(or sometimes overrated). Still, the team quality isn't high, but with all those small races the DB added, results are possible, you just have to find the right race

Ah, okay. Did think these stats seemed fairly realistic for the guys I know, but knowing you changed them now... What's your impression of the stats for the continental squads in the PCM France db overall in terms of realism??
Team quality isn't high, but seeing my ABUS-career I'm sure you can do well here and there if you play it smart
