Doping News

It's just happened, the young rider Alessandro Zini (Katusha Team) revealed in a communique that his team physician offered him some doping products, an instruction have been opened to set this case clear, according to the team it was not the first case about that but all the rider withdrew their version.

MPCC already end is partnership with the team and UCI is waiting for more evidence to react.

The doctor have been fired by the team and the Sponsor announced that it was their last year in the cycling world. The team manager also decided not to take part in Paris - Nice according to the MPCC rules even if they are not part of this anymore.

Today I was in charge of the chase with Stijn Vandenbergh. We had to chase because Bob Jungels was the race leader after his brilliant TT.
I was wearing the young jersey today.

When we reached the final difficulty of the day, Ben Hermans (Lotto Belisol) accelerated taking in his wheel the world champion Michael Albasini. Michael took no relay and we were riding fast behind them.

Unfortunately, Ben Hermans was to strong for us and he even beat Michael in the sprint. Bob lost his jersey to Ben Hermans who is leading with 10".

Today was the last stage of this race with the ascension of Mont Faron to end. My goal today was to be in the breakaway and I made it with 11 other riders.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/A%20French%20Rising%20Hope/2015/Tour%20Med/PCM0002_zpsb2cbde8f.jpg

Then with 20 km left, Bob Jungels tried to get his jersey back, Michael Albasini stayed put in the pack.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/A%20French%20Rising%20Hope/2015/Tour%20Med/PCM0003_zps50769f24.jpg

When Bob joined us, I started to set the pace up to help my leader to catch Clément Koretzky (Bretagne - Séché Environnement) who had left the breakaway earlier.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/A%20French%20Rising%20Hope/2015/Tour%20Med/PCM0004_zps3f7d145a.jpg

The leaders group soon joined us but at list we tried, and Michael was still feeling good. After all my efforts of this day I simply let go and I waited another group to get to the top.

Dries Devenyns (Team Differdange - Losch) attacked with 1.6 km to go.

And he made it till the end and he won ahead Ben Hermans.

It was a good race for us with the 3rd position overall for Michael Albasini and, even if I did not speak a lot of him, the 4th position of Tony Gallopin.

Doping News

After an investigation, it appears that half of the Katusha Team Squad was using doping products, no names have been sorted out but it look like the team is in a really bad position.

UCI finally decided to cancel the World Tour Licence of the Team so there is now 17 team in the World Tour. Of course race organizer won't gave a wild card to this team.

In a press communique, Viatcheslav Ekimov apologized for his bad impact on the cycling world and he announced that he was retiring from cycling.

This mean that, next year, the team won't have a sponsor and a manager, I think that the end is coming.

Mark Cavendish's blood sample have been tested positive after the 3rd stage of Santos Tour Down Under. Of course Mark asked the test of the B-sample. I won't make any comments on that until the truth will be reveal.

On another hand, the Leopard Luxembourg Team application to enter the MPCC have been accepted so now we are regularly controlled and I'm proud to say that I'm clean.

Doping News

After testing the B-Sample of Mark Cavendish, the scientist realized it was negative, they made a second test on the first sample and it was also negative.

Mark Cavendish decided to take to court the UCI organization for defamation. UCI already apologized but it seems that doping is coming to the front scene again.

Race Report : Tour du Haut Var

Stage 01

Today was a day where the team did not do anything except in the final. We did not took part in the chase even if we had one of the race favorite.

When there was 20 km left, the acceleration started, here it's Andrew Fenn (Omega Pharma) who was attacking. Bob Jungels was leading the pack to prevent to many attacks.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/A%20French%20Rising%20Hope/2015/Tour%20du%20Haut%20Var/PCM0002_zps1b71a5b5.jpg

And then when we reached the 10 km mark, Andy Schleck escaped the pack. No one behind him was decided to took part of the chase and the gap was constantly growing.

Andy was strong but the pack who was finally organized was getting closer, the advantage was lower but Andy managed to hold the pack and he won his first stage of the season.
