Stage 4 – Batu Pahat – Muar – 163.8km

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/011-LE%20TOUR%20DE%20LANGKAWI/PIC-038-PROFILE-LETOURDELANGKAWI-STAGE4_zps786e7780.jpg

THE RACE

SPRINT - Serebryakov/Team Type 1

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-100KM.jpg

Three riders stayed clear after the first intermediate sprint and it looks good for Team Type1 who have got two of them in Bertogliati and Serebryakov along with Martens/Rabobank. They currently have an advantage of 7m 48s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/011-LE%20TOUR%20DE%20LANGKAWI/011-4-PIC3_zps0e0fa7ac.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-80KM.jpg

All three riders are still working well together with Bertogliati doing the lions share of the work

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/011-LE%20TOUR%20DE%20LANGKAWI/011-4-PIC4_zpsfddb4b67.jpg

SPRINT - Martens/Rabobank

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-60KM.jpg

The lead is at 4m 23s at the moment

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/011-LE%20TOUR%20DE%20LANGKAWI/011-4-PIC5_zps1cc0afac.jpg

SPRINT - Martens/Rabobank

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-40KM.jpg

The pace has now gone out of the attack after the last sprint, with the two Team Type 1 riders now sitting up and waiting for their team mates to catch up with them

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/011-LE%20TOUR%20DE%20LANGKAWI/011-4-PIC6_zpsf896c10d.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-20KM.jpg

Everything is all back together as the peleton catches the escapees

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/011-LE%20TOUR%20DE%20LANGKAWI/011-4-PIC7_zps155964b2.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-10KM.jpg

It's Lampre who have sent there man to the front to set the pace for the finish

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/011-LE%20TOUR%20DE%20LANGKAWI/011-4-PIC8_zps53ce7c7e.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-5KM.jpg

Lampre are still setting the pace as they look for Bole to grab them a stage win

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/011-LE%20TOUR%20DE%20LANGKAWI/011-4-PIC9_zps3772f8fb.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-1KM.jpg

All change at the front as Ag2r start to look for the win, but double stage winner Meersman/Lotto Belisol is in close attendance

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/checkeredflag1.gif

But he narrowly misses out this time to a perfectly timed sprint from the Italian Elia Favilli of Farnese Vini

It was a fast stage today which didn't suit our race plan so we just sheltered in the peleton for as much as we could and used Daniele Colli to protect Gary and his GC position, which he did very well. On a sad note Rubens was sick during the stage so we will have to keep a close eye on him over the next twenty four hours

Ian Butler
Hope Rubens gets better soon!

Too bad the breakaway couldn't stay away, too.

Well i have to say that i have mixed emotions about today's stage. Happy because Gary Sutton managed to survive the stage in a pretty good position and maintain his top ten placing in the GC, and sad because we lost the service's of Rubens Bertogliati due to the sickness he has had over the last couple of days, so we will have to do our best with the remaining five riders

Jakstar22
A great 5th place for Gary.

sutty68
Jakstar22 - Yes indeed, i was really happy with the way i rode in my first mountain stage Smile

Ian Butler
Gary did a great job there Smile
We're finally seeing his potential!

FreitasPCM
Gary's been performing well in Malaysia. Smile
