On the height discussion, I probably underexaggerated mine, seeing as I haven't been measured for about 6 months. |

How the fuck do you get to do all this!
are you really rich, lucky, or is it a job?
I believe as SN is a maths student, he realised the ballotting system used for the Olympics meant that if you put in for 2000 tickets you were highly likely of not getting any more than 10. Whereas if you put in for 8 tickets you would likely get none. So likely SN put in for loads of tickets and got some. Hence why SN is at the basketball on saturday evening.
Tickets came out at various times after that too (such as ticketing on Box Hill). That was more a case of timing.
I've heard rumours if you just went on your own (rather than in pairs or families) that you were far more likely to get tickets too.
Congrats to SN. I am happy enough to have aquired some tickets to the boxing for Sunday (yeah it's womens!).
In the ballot I put in for 3 x 20 tickets, mostly singles. (I had an application, and both my parents did too). From 60 possibles, I think I got about 10. Not so much maths studenty, more, I want to go to as much as possible.
Timing is also key. Some of my best tickets have come from LOCOG since then - in the past couple of months - by being on the website at the right time.
But BK018 specifically, I bought from Cosport - the official ticket supplier for Austria, Norway and Sweden. EU trading rules meant that any one in Europe could buy them, not just those 3 countries. The British newspapers picked up on it about a year ago - leading to the German site being swamped, and the Danish site having to close to new applications for a while. But those EU sales have kept on coming through the year

Well done.
I'd put that under lucky, as my family have done the same and we got nothing.
Heres a run down;
Me - applied 20 tickets, got 0
Dad - 20, got 0
Mum - 10, got 0
Uncle - 2, got 2
Aunt - 5, got 0
Aunt - 12, got 0
cousin - 10, got 0
cousin - 10 got 0
gran - 15, got 0
Thats only the UK, if i included European sites add 50% more applications
However in the last week ive got 3 tickets... so not too bad
Plus ive seen both RR, both ITT, am going to see both the Marathon and Triathlon, seeing the sailing very soon.

Depends also which sessions you applied for from that. The only medal sessions I got back from the ballot was Cycling MTB and Canoe Sprint. Things like Athletics were significantly oversubscribed - and as it has turned out, they didnt put all the tickets into the ballot anyway.
Some people will only have applied for things like the Opening Ceremony or 100m Final, so its no wonder they got nothing. I only picked up those particular tickets through extreme luck, in the last month or so.

Whole range
50% lower bands
35% middle bands
15% high bands
Mix of sessions
33% medal
33% non medal
33% everything else
range of sports, combined there was an application for every sport at least

Knapkova or javelin will be the best shots for gold.
