The seven riders up the road with a lead of 3m 48s are, Kuschynski/Katusha, Friedman/Team Optum, Sieberg/Lotto Belisol, Vandewiele/Ventilair, Egger/Metaltek, Moyano/Colombia Claro and Rodger/Node4 Giordana

SPRINT - Sieberg/Lotto Belisol

There advantage has gone out to over five minutes

MOUNTAIN - Rodger/Node4 Giordana

The pack are taking it nice and easy at the moment

MOUNTAIN - Kuschynski/Katusha

Riders are beginning to lose contact with the peleton

MOUNTAIN - Rodger/Node4 Giordana

Only five remain in the lead group and they only have 1m 28s on the now fast moving peleton

The usual teams are on the front of the peleton

Sieberg is all that is left of the days activities but can he survive on his own

He goes under the red kite with just 17s advantage

But he gets caught on an awkward finish and its the yellow jersey who takes the win with Sutton/Team Novo Nordisk second

We had a team meeting in the bus before todays stage and the plan was to go all out for Ben Swift to enable him to win the GC, but his legs just wouldn't work so we changed to Gary Sutton and through sterling work from Jack Bobridge and Tyler Farrar (the stage winner) we left Schorn in trouble and so we got the Overall win which i think we richly deserved

Palini/Lampre Merida, Rollin/ FDJ-BigMat, Novikov/Vacansoleil, Boivin/Cannondale and Bravo/Euskaltel have got a lead of 6m 10s

The hot conditions are not helping in the least

Katusha are assembling at the front of the peleton

The lead is slowly being whittled down

A number of teams are now coming to the front of the pack to help out Katusha with the chase

Race radio is reporting that the gap is 3m 15s

Zandio/Sky Procycling is once again struggling to keep up with the pace

With two Canadians in the break the crowd are very supportive towards it

The leaders have been caught and passed by Gasparotto/Astana who looks like he has caught his second breath

Swiss Champion Cancellara/Radioshack-Leopard has done what he does best and put the hammer down and rode off the front of the race, will anyone be able to go with him

He's in time trial mode but a chasing group is only seventeen seconds in arrears

The chasers catch him at the flame rouge but has he got enough left in the tank to battle it out with them

He tries but to no avail and can only watch as Gasparotto takes the victory
