Stage 5
The 5th stage from La-Motte-Servolex to Macon is flat, and should be for the sprinters.
5km to go
And this stage is for the sprinters. First Astana and Garmin, and in the last 8 kilometres the Petronas - Monster Energy-train, lead the chase, With 5 kilometres to go, only Geert Dockx (Dexia) remains in front of the peloton, but he knows that he has no chance against the raging peloton.
2km to go
At the bridge over the river Saone, GC-leader Wilco Kelderman is leading out Pim Ligthart. Our sprinter doesn't feel 100% after a crash with 80km to go, but he wants to try it anyway. Astana is close, with Guardini targetting the win.
Finish
Guardini gets close, but it is Ben Swift who takes the win in Macon. It is his first win since the start of season 2011!! Guardini finishes in 2nd, Bonnet in 3rd and a bruised Ligthart in 7th.
Then we notice that a massive crash has occured after the last corner. More than 50% of the peloton looses time (2'14), with 3 cyclists having to abandon due to injuries: Jérome Baugnies (fractured wrist), Luis León Sánchez (fractured vertebrate) and Marc de Maar (fractured hand). You can see the Antillian champion in the middle of the screen, strangely he didn't hit the tarmac, but got hit on the hand by another cyclist.......

Word from the DS
The team feels really bad about De Maar's injury. Luckily for him, this was planned to be his last race before the summer. But Kelderman will miss his best climbing team mate in the next 3 stages. And the 7th for Ligthart is probably the best possible result for him.

Too bad that De Maar is out but I think that Wilco can also hold the lead, even without him, 2'47 is big enough gap imo.

Stage 6
Stage 6 brings us back into the Alps, over 179 kilometres to Les Gets. The route is hilly and the last 10 kilometres have an average gradient of 5.0%.
15km to go
Many breakaways have failed to create a gap to the peloton larger than 2 minutes, but in the end 6 riders have broken free. Sprick, Zeits, Champion, Vrecer, Devolder and Cobo are about to start the final climb to Les Gets with a margin of 1'08 to the peloton.
5km to go
It's halfway up the climb, when the breakaway is almost caught. Fränk Schleck uses them as a springboard to launch an attack. Damiano Cunego counters and of course Wilco Kelderman, as he sees Cunego as the main threat in the GC.
4km to go
Cunego is the first to overtake the breakaway. Juan José Cobo tries to follow the little prince. Schleck and Kelderman follow at '13.
1km to go
Cobo has wasted too much energy in the breakaway and can't follow the 3 others. Cunego still has a small margin to Schleck and Kelderman and rides under the flaame rouge with a margin of '10.
Finish
Kelderman starts his sprint, easily drops Schleck, but has miscalculated the gap to Cunego a bit. With the last energy left in his legs, Cunego manages to push his front wheel over the finish line as the first one, and wins the 6th stage of the Dauphiné. Kelderman finishes in 2nd, Schleck in 3rd at '10 and the Belgians Seeldraeyers and Gilbert at '19. GC's number 2 Anthony Roux finishes at 1'12 and drops to 5th in the GC.

Oops, mistimed the sprint. Thought that Schleck could bring Kelderman back to Cunego, but when he realized that it wasn't, it was too late for the stage. Oh well, you can't win them all

Stage 7
The 2 final days in this Dauphiné begins with a 175 kilometre stage from Les Gets to the summit of the Collet d'Allevard. 6 categorized climbs have to be ascended, with the Col des Aravis (2d category), the Col du Grand Cucheron (1st category, 11.8km at 7.4%) and the Collet d'Allevard (Hors Category, 11.0km at 8.2%). This makes a total of 4204 height metres,
40km to go
The story of the race is made by Austrian Thomas Rohregger. He attacked out of the peloton at the Col de Tamié, and closed the 4-minute gap to the BOTD, consisting of 11 non-climbers like Stijn Devolder and Zdenek Stybar. He drops the others at the slopes of the Grand Cucheron, and arrives solo at the summit. 40 kilometres remain, and he leads the peloton by 6'07.
16km to go
GC-leader Wilco Kelderman is isolated after the Grand Cucheron, as none of his team mates his able to stay in the 57-rider peloton. His main rival Damiano Cunego doesn't seem to want to profit from it, as he just lets his team mates set the pace in the peloton.
To some rider, that pace is too low, as Rohregger still leads by 5'58. Juan José Cobo (Dexia) has attacked, and now, even before the foot of the Collet d'Allevard, also Fränk Schleck (GC's 10th) and Kevin Seeldraeyers (Sony Ericsson, GC's 4th) do the same.
11km to go
The final climb has begun, and Rohregger has a comfortable margin of 5'03 to Cobo, Schleck and Seeldraeyers. The peloton follows at 5'31. A few riders try to attack out of this peloton (Michele Gaia, Luke Rowe), while Kelderman has decided to keep climbing in his own pace.
4km to go
Kelderman brings them all back, without too much effort. Rohregger leads this 10-cyclist group by 3'21: Poels (GC 12th), Rowe (14th), Cunego (2nd), Kelderman (1st), Schleck (10th), Porte (3rd), Kern (8th), Seeldraeyers (4th), Zeits (30th) and López (25th).
3km to go
Fränk Schleck has recovered a bit in the previous 2 kilometres, and attacks again, with 3km to go. Rohregger still leads by 2'26.
2km to go
Only 2 kilometres to go to the summit and the finish line. Rohregger leads Schleck by 1'47, so the win looks certain now. The group of favourites follows at 2'21. Then Cunego attacks, trying to regain some time on the GC-leader. Kelderman counters.
Finish
An exhausted Thomas Rohregger arrives at the summit, being too tired to cheer. He wins the 7th stage of the Dauphinée, and also jumps to 6th in the GC. Behind him, the 3 best riders of this Dauphiné sprint for the 2nd place. Schleck takes it, at '59. Cunego takes the 3rd at 1'09, and Kelderman, showing some signs of fatigue after his Giro, looses '14 to Cunego.

Loosing only 14 seconds to Cunego in this difficult stage.... We won't complain. Only 1 stage to go and Kelderman will win his 2nd World Tour stage race this year!!

It's a team story, remember Kelderman will have a long break after the Dauphiné, and will only ride Qinghai Lake and Tour of Pologne in the remaining part of the season.
