@ PCM rulezz: Thanks, Kelderman is indeed a future GT-contender. Only thing that counts against him is his relatively low Mo stat of 80 (Nibali, Schleck, Contador, Gesink all have 83).
Next year Belgium, maybe, we'll see!
@ sutty68: Just sportmanship from our team, letting other teams win!

Stage 4
The 4th stage of the Bayern Rundfahrt is a 25km ITT from Plattling to Deggendorf. As the GC was done, I simulated the stage. Tony Martin took the win, only 1 second faster than Jack Bobridge. Ingmar Dassler looses the GC-lead (62nd place at 3'26) to Hannes Blank from Team Eddy Merckx - Indeland (31st at 1'37).
| 1 | Tony Martin | Red Bull - Cervélo | 29'05 | | 2 | Jack Bobridge | Petronas - Monster Energy | + 1 | | 3 | Linus Gerdemann | Red Bull - Cervélo | s.t. | | 4 | Joost Posthuma | Petronas - Monster Energy | + 4 | | 5 | Sergej Fuchs | Nutrixxion Sparkasse | + 7 | | 6 | Vladimir Karpets | Saxo Bank SunGard | + 8 | | 7 | Lasse Bøchman | Saxo Bank SunGard | + 13 | | 8 | Martin Mortensen | Onfone | + 22 | | 9 | Paul Voss | Red Bull - Cervélo | + 28 | | 10 | Steven Cozza | Team NetApp | + 32 |
_______________________________________________________________________
Stage 5
Finally, a mass sprint in the final stage to Cham. The domestiques of both Petronas - Monster Energy and Red Bull - Cervélo work hard to keep the peloton together in the last 20km. Only Simon Geschke attacks, but gets caught with 5km to go.
The Petronas - Monster Energy-train is the fastest, untill 2-2.5km to go. Then the lack of sprinting speed of final lead out man Jack Bobridge (Sp 68) is not enough to compete with Red Bulls final lead out man Andreas Stauff (Sp 75). This means Marcel Kittel has to start his sprint very far before the finish, with 2km to go. With NetApps Robert Wagner in his wheel, he is in the lead with a few hundred metres to go, when Red Bulls Gerald Ciolek is closing the gap. It's an exciting duel between the 2 fastest sprinters out of Germany, with the current German champion Kittel being the winner. He pushes his front wheel with a small difference of 15 centimetres earlier over the finish than Ciolek!

Overall Winner
Word from the DS
So this Bayern Rundfahrt ended in a stage win after all. It was the last of 3 exciting sprints between Marcel Kittel and Gerald Ciolek, only this time for the stage win. And all 3 times, Kittel was the fastest, although Ciolek was very close.

I have to admit that I haven't been following as actively as I used to lately, but I can't help to admire your consistency over and over again whenever another reply pops up on the main screen.
I'm still looking into this from time to time, and I'll try to catch up some more when I'll have more time. It's probably not necessary to say, but still: Keep it up

May review
Summary
According to the amount of wins, may was a quiet month for Petronas - Monster Energy. "Only" 2 wins, namely a stage in the Bayern Rundfahrt for Marcel Kittel, and a stage in the Giro d'Italia for Wilco Kelderman. But when you count the 3th place in the queens stage of the Tour of California and the 4th place in the GC for Robert Gesink, the 3rd place for Kittel in the Pro Race Berlin and the 3rd place in the GC, the points jersey and the white jersey for Kelderman and the 1st place in the team ranking in Giro, the month was a good one!
Media awards
3 stage wins, the KOTM-jersey and the GC-win in the Giro, makes Vincenzo Nibali a deserved winner of the rider of the month award.
Rankings
World Tour riders
Tom Boonen has collected enough points in the classics-season to maintain his leading position. Wilco Kelderman has jumped to the 2nd position and has pushed his former team mate Andy Schleck 1 place down.
World Tour teams
It's a common thing: Petronas - Monster Energy leading the World Tour teams-ranking. Thanks to Nibali, Radio Shack - Nissan has jumped to 2nd. Katusha is in 3rd.
Continental Tour riders
No changes in the top 3 of the Continental Tour riders-ranking: Lloyd Mondory leads Daniele Callegarin and Stefan Schumacher.
Continental Tour teams
Also no changes with the teams: La Française des Jeux leads Team Type 1, with Saur - Sojasun loosing contact in place 3.
CQ riders
Thanks to the 3rd place in the Giro, Wilco Kelderman takes the lead in the CQ ranking. Tom Boonen is in 2nd and Matti Breschel in 3rd.
CQ teams
Petronas - Monster Energy remains the best team in professional cycling, with Radio Shack - Nissan in 2nd and Dexia in 3rd.
Wins riders
No wins for the number 1 and 2 in May: Tom Boonen has 10, ALberto Contador 8. Mark Cavendish and Alex Rasmussen are in 3rd now with 7 wins.
Wins teams
The Movistar Team has added 2 wins to their season total and have now celebrated 19 times. Both Team Sky and Petronas - Monster Energy have 18 wins.
Thanks to Marcel Kittel and Wilco Kelderman, the team can give you this present:

The Giro d'Italia is behind us, so the peloton starts to focus at the Tour de France. The first big test race is the Critérium du Dauphinée. As always, the 66th edition of the World Tour stage race in the Dauphinée will be a battle between the riders that have just finished the Giro, and those that prepare themselves for the Tour. Last year, Robert Gesink won the GC in a convincing way.
The Race
The route is the same as in 2011, and is a great mix with a prologue, a long and hilly ITT and 4 mountain top finishes. It starts with a flat 5.4 kilometre prologue in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, followed by a short (129km) but hilly stage with an uphill finish in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse. The 3rd stage with finish in Lyon looks flat, but the finish is at the summit of a short hill. The day after is for the ITT, 42.5 kilometres with start and finish in Grenoble.
The 5th stage to Macon is, besides a 2nd category climb in the first 15km, flat. The last 3 stages will favour the climbers. First, a hilly stage with an uphill finish in Les Gets (2nd category). Stage 7 is the most difficult one, 6 categorized climbs, with the summit of the Col du Grand Cucheron (1st category, 16.3km at 5.3%) 40km before the finish and a mountain top finish at the Collet d'Allevard (HC, 11.7km at 8.7%).
The final stage is only 117 kilometres, but features the Col de la Croix de Fer (21.8km at 7.4%) and the final ascend to La Toussuire (17.5km at 6.5%).

Our Goal
This for sure ain't the strongest startlist, so we'll be aiming at a top 3 with Wilco Kelderman. But the question is if he has kept his form from the Giro and is able to keep it for 8 more stages...

Stage 1
The 2014 Dauphinée starts with a 5.4 nearly flat prologue in the streets of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.
The first rider to set a time that can be good enough for the win is German Paul Voss. The Red Bull - Cervélo rider sets a time of 7'19 and the waiting starts what this time will bring him.
It takes about 100 cyclists, before someone is faster than Voss. Taylor Phinney (BMC) can take place in the hot season, being '5 faster: 7'14.
French TT-champion Anthony Roux is one of the favourites to win today. He shows why ASO gave his team FDJ a wildcard for the Dauphinée and sets the fastest time so far: 7'12. Can this be enough for the win?
Australian TT-champ Richie Porte is one of the outsiders to win this Dauphinée. He starts pretty well with a time of 7'16, the 3rd time so far.
The last cyclist to leave the starting platform is Wilco Kelderman, the number 3 of the Giro. Being one of the favourites to win the Dauphinée, he sets the best time of the GC-contenders, only 1 second slower than Roux, 2nd time!
