I wouldn't like to see him there, he's a neo-pro. He shouldn't be doing Grand Tours.
completely agree
there will be plenty of time for him to shine on.
next year he'll have PitiPereiro and LLS woking for him

To be fair, I never under any circumstances expected him to have a season like this.
He's had a non-stop season since the Tirreno (where he crashed and lost consciousness for minutes, then remounted and finished the remaining 6 stages).
He rode every single major classic. When's the last time a neo-pro did that?
Heck, he's anything but a powerful rider and he'd never ridden cobbles before yet he was 58th in Roubaix.
Then was seen pulling at the front of the pack when it was down to only 30 riders in Liége...
Winner of an Hors Category race...then 13th in the Tour de Suisse.
And despite not having a rest since the season started, he's in contention for the Tour team. Jesus.

Rui Costa is making an awesome season, yes it's maybe too soon to do the Tour but he has 33 days of racing (35 after the nationals) which is more or less the number of some of the contenders of the Tour. He also had a bit of a rest after he fell at Tour of picardie he was about a month without races. My first reaction was: way too soon! But if he does it, rest some time and finish the season with some stage race and the worlds it would make around the 65 days Unzué told he should not exceed in the beginning of the season

That is a strong team. Here´s hoping that there will be some internal problems. Armstrong vs Contador battling it out in the mountains would be fun to watch. |

Can anyone tell me the point of releasing magazines about the Tour, saying they have in-depth analysis of the teams, when the rosters haven't even been decided yet? |

I think you still can analyse the team, not the Tour squad but the team

I smell an Astana scandal where half of the team is caught for something, haha. You'll have to look far for a more shady team. |

I hope Kloden somehow gets himself into a break and picks up a few minutes early in the race...
Won't happen though. |

A) So more people buy it
B) Because waiting for teams to announce their squads pushes back the release date until right before the Tour. The whole point of then is as a preview, so not much use if they come out too late
C) The teams are still looked at, just not the exact 9 man squad in the race

Think it's a clever decision. Two GTs in a year for him, it's too much, and when you think that he's already finished at the start of Giro's 2nd week. |
