Race Report

At the mountain sprint a group is away, it seems however not the BOTD. Berezkin takes the points and polkadots.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0895_zpsf7ea0f3d.jpg

The eventual break consists of Craven and McLaughlin.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0896_zps199612d7.jpg

With 20kms to go a big group is dropped due to the wind. Wippert is the biggest name missing out.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0897_zps2df8ddf1.jpg

With 5kms to go Craven still has a small gap.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0898_zps181e4b2c.jpg

Since Johnnie is giving it a try without a train and the pack is falling still we decide to let Taeke give it a try!
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0899_zps49c28ad2.jpg

Although it didn't work Johnnie has fought himself to the front in an excellent way. With 1km to go Van de Lijke is leading though.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0900_zps74d707cc.jpg

At the line
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0901_zps4aa8c7ec.jpg
Johnnie gives a display of dominance. A seemingly easy victory for him and for the team, which gave him a perfect support today!

Race profiles
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0902_zps54635545.jpg
We start with an on paper flat stage. However, the hills might disrupt the possibility of a mass sprint.

report

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0903_zps973784ee.jpg
Stage 2 is a lot easier in the end. A mass sprint seems inevitable.

report

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0904_zps2f834802.jpg
Stage 3 is likely to end in a sprint as well, although the short hill might have a little influence on that.

report

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0905_zps3c1ded63.jpg
Stage 4 is without doubt the toughest stage in this tour. Only the strong riders will survive on the hilly finish after a tough race.

report

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0906_zps6c0b17e6.jpg
Last but not least, this stage 5. On paper it is flat, but all the hills are likely to ensure a mass sprint won't happen.

report

Our squad
Björn Arvid will be lieutenant here. As a strong puncher, he'll support Peter in stage 4.
Armin Berg-Hansen will be used in the flat stages. He is likely to be a support for Kristian there.
Kristian Hammarling will be main sprinter here. With 2 opportunities at least he might have a shot at some victories here.
Simon Holt is useful in both terrains here. Not only is he good as a puncher, he'll also help leading out Kristian.
Peter Pal is our man for the GC here. He has a good support and will try to get overall victory in his home country.
Djaja Susanto is another option for Kristian as lead-out. In the hills he'll have to save himself a little though.

Race report

i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0908_zps5a5ff99f.jpg

By winning both mountain sprints Sterobo ensures himself of the polkadots for stage 2.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0909_zps9c1cca9f.jpg

With 10kms to go the last escapee, Sterobo, is reeled in.
i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag31/Selwink/Projob%20odfjell/PCM0910_zps10b4d9f3.jpg

With 3km to go we have 3 sprint trains in front.

Under the banner Miyazawa is leading, but fading.

Team Saxo-Tinkoff makes it a 1-2! Bennati wins, ahead of Miyazawa. Kristian was blocked a little, but still made it to a 7th spot.

Our squad
Jonas Ek will be one of the 3 leaders. On the cobbles he should be able to do well.
Fatbardh Haxhi is our second leader. A good sprint might help him if he survives the cobbles.
Heiko Kalichmann is a pure domestique here. He'll make some pace to ensure a break won't get far.
Khieu Tet Khamphan is the 4th rider here. He'll aim on a good result as well.

But what a performance from the Projob - Odfjell guys with three riders in the top ten Smile
